The leadership that has been lacking from Govt came from communities mobilising together to stand in solidarity and love against racism/Islamophobia in our society
It is now the Govt’s duty to address structural racism and #Islamophobia in society

"Staffing became more challenging during the last quarter of the reporting year. Despite mitigations, time out of cell decreased and cancellation of healthcare, education, employment and training activities was a frequent occurrence. All of this had a significant impact on many prisoners’ progression and resettlement opportunities, as well as their mental health and wellbeing."

We were in court this week, challenging the government's decision to authorise PAVA spray in prisons holding children – and there were some interesting revelations.
From information now made publicly available through our litigation, it's clear that the government knew how harmful PAVA spray's introduction would be, but pressed ahead anyway.
The judgment could be delivered before Christmas. Read our blogpost to learn more about what we heard in court: howardleague.org/blog/pava-s…
