I worked at BioWare on ME:2, Anthem and some of the internal projects that never saw the light of day. BioWare was a fixture in Edmonton, Alberta. The province I grew up in. A place known more for cattle and oil than high tech. It was always an unlikely studio; but it survived because it created stories and games that defined a generation. I will forever be grateful for my time there and the experience of working with many talented individuals who are now life long friends. My condolences to those who were affected. This is a horrible time to be thrust into the job market. I choose to remember BioWare for it's original mission: creating high quality RPGs wrapped in a touching, human story. They didn't always live up to their pedigree (to put it mildly). But throughout it all, there were always really good people who were trying to steer the ship away from the rocks. Perhaps the demise was inevitable. Regardless, it will be missed.
