Talking with Joe Moorhead two weeks ago; he originally thought the idea was ridiculous. Said he didn’t even let assistants call plays, so how could he let a fan? Didn’t want to disrespect the game.
Then it started gaining traction, media attention, and he learned part of the season ticket sales would fund their revenue share.
He fell in love with the idea. Thought it was brilliant. Both feet in.
Akron has the second-smallest athletic budget among public FBS schools.
