Gotta say, I’m very much ready for all these awful political ads to go the hell away.

Pat McAfee says he was "uncomfortable" during Utah College GameDay and alluded to the Charlie Kirk killing. This all comes after a school video of students commenting about him upset him. Also said he might not show up if GameDay goes back there. nytimes.com/athletic/7727393…

If there’s a game that can be played mid-day on a Thursday, it’s a regular-season Atlanta Hawks game.
After a weekend of nonstop frantic discussions and negotiation, Game 6 of the WNBA Finals will be played Thursday at 12:30 pm at 17,000-seat State Farm Arena in Atlanta, sources told ESPN. The Atlanta Hawks-Cleveland Cavaliers game that night will move back to 8 pm to accommodate the doubleheader, just as the Hawks did for Game 4. This allows a potential Game 7 to remain scheduled for Halloween at Chase Center in San Francisco. All three Finals games in Atlanta have required hurried adjustments to the schedule at State Farm Arena. It took collective efforts from the WNBA, NBA, the Hawks, State Farm Arena, Dream, Valkyries and broadcast partners to figure out the best course of action again. By moving the game earlier in the day, the WNBA avoided a scenario where a potential championship game was played inside the Dream’s home arena, the 3,500 seat Gateway Center. The other option under strong consideration was moving Game 6 to an open date at State Farm Arena on Friday and Game 7 to an open date at Chase Center on Tuesday, November 3.

The NBA has reached deals with Kalshi and Polymarket to make them the league's preferred prediction markets partners. The companies can now use NBA IP on their platforms, while the NBA gets right of approval on markets that they offer. That and more: nytimes.com/athletic/7723134…

The CU Buffs can't put together a complete game. That's how you get to 2-5 with their (inarguably difficult) schedule. This is not worth $10 million a year.

Generally speaking, I find pro sports championship rings to be an over-the-top, garish tradition that I could take or leave. That said, using a potential championship ring as a test of your employees’ cyber security awareness is unnecessarily cruel. nytimes.com/athletic/7715834…

The Knicks' assistant coaches did not receive their championship rings during Tuesday's ceremony, despite being handed ring boxes, according to league sources. Many longtime employees at Madison Square Garden will not receive rings at all, per team sources. Those employees got their hopes up in late September, when they were sent a fake championship ring offer as part of a phishing test. nyti.ms/4jB0yvR
