Shoutout to @PescisPizza !
I had to order a special pizza for my brother-in-law with some very specific instructions, and they went above and beyond! 😬
Bravo!

For all of human history, it was the older generation’s responsibility to set their kids, and eventually grandchildren up better than themselves. In exchange, life would reward them with grandchildren and to become grandparents, and be surrounded by loved ones as they grew older. Becoming a parent was a lifetime commitment. Getting to know your grandchildren was the greatest measurement of success and achievement.
But then something changed horribly with the Boomer generation. They convinced themselves their responsibilities to their kids and younger generations ended the moment their kids turned 18. No concern for seeing their kids struggle, their grandkids, or any kind of legacy. No aging with grace or being surrounded by loved ones. Just their iPhones, their hordes of money they refuse to spend on their families while they’re alive, and another pointless cruise to nowhere.
I asked my (boomer) mom to watch my (good) kids during the day while I'm at a conference. She said yes, but in the same text:
-said she wouldn't do it again
-made me feel guilty for asking her since she's already so busy
-said she doesn't have the stamina (she's 64 and in good health)
-doesn't want to "be in a disciplinarian role" and just wants to be Grandma
- is leaving early to make it back in time to attend a church function
-and says I need a reliable back up plan because she may bail last minute

"Hey thanks for the dinner earlier. I had a great time! And wah, I still don't know how you got a reservation at Burnt Ends!" Andrea exclaimed, gently caressing David's hands as they walked towards her block from the carpark.
David let out a slight smirk as he snuck in a gentle kiss on her cheek. "This FirstDate so many kang tao one." He thought to himself. There was a special offer guaranteeing a reservation for 2 at the highly coveted Burnt Ends restaurant along with a 25% discount.
There were some terms and conditions but David skimmed through it, eager to turn off the FirstDate warning that his DBS bank account was on the low side and perhaps he should pick somewhere more affordable for his date.
"Well, we've reached." Andrea's eyes quickly darted around before she playfully tugged his hands. "My parents are not home. Do you want to come up?"
"Oh sure." David struggled to contain his excitement despite his seemingly nonchalant response. He had not PCC-ed for a few days and naughty thoughts started flooding his mind as he snuck a quick glance at Andrea's low cut dress. But a faint frown flashed across David's face.
"I think I left something in the car. How about you go up first, I'll come up later?" Andrea nodded, relieved that she had time to touch up her makeup and check if she needed a quick shave. "I'll text you the unit number." She smiled as she headed up.
David heaved a sigh of relief too as he immediately rushed over to the nearby 7-11 he saw on the way here. He had used up the condom he had in his wallet with some skanky xmm he met at Marquee in the past week.
And thankfully for him, nothing else came out of it. There were rumours about FirstDate informing female partners that their dates were found to be at lapsup massage parlours that were raided by anti-vice. Some sentient AI feature working with location trackers. Maybe because it was a classy hotel for him so it didn't set it off or perhaps he and Andrea had not set their relationship as official yet in the app.
David walked into the 7-11 and went straight for Okamoto Sensation and headed to the counter, while eagerly checking his phone for Andrea's message.
"IC or Singpass?" David groaned as he held up his Singpass barcode.
There was an error sound. "Eh sorry ah, system say you cannot." The 7-11 cashier took the condoms back with an apologetic smile.
"You sure anot? Can check again?" David was confused. There was a recent BTO scheme where extra ballots were given to married couples in return for a 5 year ban on condoms and other birth control purchases. But David and Andrea were nowhere near that stage.
He opened his FirstDate app where a warning message had now appeared, reminding him that he now had a temporary ban on all birth control purchases for up to 6 months as a result of using the Burnt Ends voucher.

According to Neuroscientist, Gen Z has been cognitively stunted by their over-reliance on digital tech in school & is the first generation in modern history to score lower on standardized testing than the Gen before them. So.. for over a century, we’ve gotten increasingly more intelligent than our parents, until now.. So technically, Millennials are the smartest generation to ever exist.. There’s really no point arguing with a bunch of Gen Z young adults who can’t understand why it’s inappropriate to attend a job interview with an iced coffee and wet hair.

Being a dev today using frontier AI feels like I'm playing Watson to Sherlock Holmes. I just stand back and go "my word holmes how did you deduce that" and occasionally stop him from getting shot
