"The Celtics are a way of life. They're not just a team. They're the Celtics."

Brian Windhorst Explains Why the NBA Didn't Value Jaylen Brown at $57M
"I don't believe that the league doesn't think Jaylen Brown is a very good player... What I think is the league believes he's not a $57 million player….In the new apron era, the definition of ‘value’ has completely shifted. It’s no longer just about who is the better basketball player it’s about dollar efficiency. That’s exactly why Payton Pritchard is viewed as more efficient with his contract than Jaylen Brown is."

Great dude that needs more playoff basketball experience

I was critical of Jaylen Brown’s play at times. That’s how the job works.
The stuff is such nonsense. He was never a locker room problem. The whole “He might be too smart for basketball” stuff has dogged him his whole career and always been dumb. Yeah, he’s a smart guy who has outside interests. Never felt it impacted him on the court. There are lots of hours in the day to do lots of things.
Also, most scouts aren’t even around teams like that. That’s passing on gossip like the ladies at the hairdresser.
NBA sources believe Jaylen Brown thinks he’s the smartest person in the room, per @colincowherd
“I had two NBA sources … two people in the league, one an executive, one a scout, say that Jaylen Brown has — it’s a disease. He suddenly thinks he’s the smartest guy in every room he’s in … You make a lot of money, suddenly you’re absolutely sure, you don’t wanna listen to your bosses, you don’t wanna listen to consultants, you don’t wanna listen to teammates.”

Going to get into the basketball side of all this shortly, but before that:
Jaylen Brown embraced this city & community in a way few pro athletes have. The youth in this city will never forget it. There's a legacy/impact here that is so much deeper than basketball.

Wish it worked but it didn't
Glad he is out.
Free agent center Nikola Vucevic has agreed on a one-year, $3.9 million deal to return to the Orlando Magic, sources tell ESPN. Vucevic -- who started his career in Orlando as a sophomore, spent nearly nine years with the Magic and has maintained a home there since -- turned down more lucrative offers elsewhere to reunite with the franchise.

The Celtics should keep Jaylen Brown in Boston.
"Boston is asking for the sun and the moon... the market is not robust unless they change their price tag."
Sam Amick says the Portland Trail Blazers could land Jaylen Brown if the Celtics are willing to take less in a trade 👀
