🎯 Values. Great by Noonan. Explaining the blue wave away as a pocketbook election is demeaning to the voters who still have America’s better angels in their mind's eye. As Navalny proved in Russia, people really don’t like corruption.
Peggy Noonan, the Reagan speechwriter who has spent decades as the Wall Street Journal’s keeper of the old Republican flame, has written the GOP’s obituary. Her verdict: Trump is the author of the ruin.
It wasn’t the war alone, she argues. It was the prices. The tariffs. Above all, the corruption, showy and shameless: crypto, pardons, federal contracts for his sons’ companies. Then came the decadence. Three days before the election, Trump threw a jungle-themed Halloween party with a caviar bar while Americans outside the gates added up their grocery receipts.
Ron DeSantis called Tuesday’s results “close to an extinction level event” for his party. Trump’s response: sign a ballroom beam, declare his office a national monument, and blame Fox’s polls.
Noonan has a line for that: “Please. It was you, Fredo.”
When a Reagan speechwriter is quoting The Godfather at you, the party is over.

“These Zionist establishments must go!”
Schlesinger’s is a Jewish deli in Philly owned by an American Jew. Activists still put it on a list of “Zionist establishments” that “must go,” with a bike rally on the eve of Kristallnacht.
They keep telling us “Zionist” doesn’t mean Jew. Then they make the list.
Another impeachable offense for a Trump administration official
The story keeps getting crazier. To recap everything that has been reported so far:
- The US intelligence community discovered that Jensen Huang, the CEO of the largest company in the world, was sleeping with Alice Huang, a Chinese spy and an executive at Megaspeed. (FT)
- Multiple independent investigations have concluded that Megaspeed is likely a Chinese cutout, which helps Chinese companies access AI chips or circumvent export controls. (NYT and Bloomberg)
- The US intelligence community also concluded that Alice Huang’s goal was to convince Jensen to lobby the U.S. government to loosen export controls on advanced AI chips. (NYT)
- The intelligence community relayed this information to “a small group of top US government officials” earlier this year. (FT)
- Over the last year, Jensen Huang has repeatedly lobbied the U.S. government to loosen export controls on advanced chips. @BISgov has done so, not only by permitting the export of H200 chips to China, but also not enforcing export controls that would have required a license for exports of the most advanced Blackwell chips to Megaspeed and Southeast Asia.
- Although @CommerceGov leadership was presumably briefed on this information by the U.S. intelligence community, @BISgov has taken no actions to tighten controls on Megaspeed or Southeast Asia.
- Megaspeed remains a preferred cloud partner of Nvidia, and continues to receive Nvidia Blackwell chips despite employing a Chinese spy who reportedly is romantically engaged with the CEO of Nvidia.
- Tens of billions of dollars worth of AI chips have been exported to Southeast Asia this year alone, and Malaysia and Singapore are now two of the four largest importers of AI chips in the world.
What is going on here??? We need answers. The question of who gets the most advanced AI chips in the world is literally the defining strategic question of our time. And not only does it seem like the MSS may be directly influencing the debate on export controls in the United States, but also @CommerceGov is refusing to listen to the warnings of the IC on this issue. What is a POSSIBLE good explanation for why Megaspeed is still receiving chips? Why is there not a license requirement for AI chip shipments to all of Southeast Asia? This is beyond strange at this point.
The fallout from this story will be massive. Obviously, the motivations underpinning Nvidia’s policy views opposing export controls must now all be questioned. But also, how did @BISgov sit on this information and has still taken no actions? We need answers.

Ireland has taken one step closer to a complete boycott of lifesaving pharmaceuticals
Why? You guessed it
Because they're manufactured by an Israeli company
Ireland's patients deserve better than to be held hostage by a "Free Palestine" activist class

Chris this is horseshit. This has nothing to do with Charlie Kirk. It has to do with the TPUSA today. I didn't mention Kirk, Have not spoke ill of him since he was murdered, and I think 14 months later, it's perfectly legitimate to criticize TPUSA and the extended MAGA industrial complex -- which you are a part of and occasional apologist for --for the utter and complete ruin of the GOP and the failure to execute on the things TPUSA & Co. promised. You guys have repelled more young people and voters then you have attracted. You discredited ideas I care about dearly. And you have claimed to be doing it in the name of a more "serious" understanding of politics and power. Nixonmaxxing my ass.
I am sorry if people sincerely took this as an insult to Kirk or mockery of his heinous murder. But they are mistaken. I am not sorry for calling out the bullshit opportunism and bad faith of people projecting false motives on me in order to have a comfortable talking point to distract from their abject political and ideological failures on display this week.

This is so wrong
The reason “Trump didn’t steal the elections” is because we & the pro-voter coalition stopped him EIGHT times over the past 21 months

Pakistan is a religious apartheid state that constitutionally unpersoned a religious minority group at the demand of a nationwide hate movement and provides legal cover for terror against poor and marginalized people through accusations of blasphemy, a capital crime.
Pakistan, for all its many faults, is not a settler-colonial state keeping millions of indigenous people stateless, under military occupation, & actively committing a genocide against them.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Pakistan army killed hundreds of thousands to millions of Bengalis & raped ~200k women. Hamoodur Commission confirmed atrocities. Diplomats called it “selective genocide.”

Dear Jew-hating Philly "Boycott Ride" organizers:
If you don't like our small business owners, wait till you meet our lawyers.
Here is what @NJACLaw has already done in preparation for your antisemitic stunt:
1) Enforcement letters to the AG, DA, and Police Commissioner, reminding them which statutes apply, which specific crimes trigger it, and providing the proof of motive.
2) Preservation notices to each of you, explaining that litigation is anticipated and that deleting relevant evidence to prevent its use in court can lead to sanctions, including a jury instruction that the missing evidence was unfavorable to you.
3) Organized volunteers and lawyers on site so we have a litigation-grade record ready. No he-said/she-said disputes this time.
Play stupid games win stupid prizes. Game on.

Journalists have to get better at handling antisemites.
Stop asking them to condemn stuff.
Ask them where Jews are indigenous to.
Ask them how many states Palestinians have rejected.
Ask them if they think Jews have a right of self determination.
Ask them better questions.

Russia does not need another security agreement. It has the world’s largest nuclear arsenal, and absolutely nobody in Europe has the slightest desire to invade or occupy that miserable country.
What Kushner is describing as some magnificent new European security architecture is, essentially, the security system Europe already had before Russia decided international law was optional and its neighbours’ territory was available for collection.
We had treaties. We had security guarantees. We had diplomatic consultations. We had internationally recognised borders.
Russia violated them, invaded Ukraine, annexed its territory and turned European security into a catastrophe.
The problem was never a shortage of agreements. The problem was Russia’s refusal to honour them.
And now Washington apparently believes the solution is to sit down with Moscow and invent another agreement.
Brilliant. Perhaps this time Putin could promise to behave himself in writing.
Oh, wait. He already did.

Not true. Hegseth gets his clothes from a company called Book a Tailor, which he confirmed in a Fox News segment. I suspect he got his clothes for free in exchange for this mention on Fox News. The company owner confirmed in an interview that their suits are made in Thailand.
In the time he since promoted this company, three US suit factories have faced closure. Instead of promoting US-made clothing, Hegseth promoted cheap imports that undercut US manufacturers.
You only think they're made in the US because the clothes are plastered with US flags. This is because you are more easily impressed by spectacle than substance, which is why this administration is so exciting for you.
