Parade Day! These uniforms are known as Number 1's, Class A's or Dress Uniforms (to name a few). Reserved for parades, special events, funerals and memorials. In the early days of the fire service these would also be worn at shift change before changing into duty uniforms.

Stop. Look around. If there was an emergency where you are right now, would you be able to accurately describe your location? Location is one of the most important things we need to know to ensure we get you the help you need as quickly as possible! #WhereAreYouWednesday

#TBT Fire Dispatch in Red Deer in the early 1960's. 911 wasn't adopted in Canada until 1972. Prior to that, calls went through a switchboard operator directly to the Fire Hall. The technology has changed, but our commitment to public safety and the communities we serve has not.

Your safety is our priority. We just want to make sure you are okay! #reddeer911 #stayontheline

If you call 911 for the police and you are within an area that the RCMP serves we will transfer you to one of their dispatch centres. Here is a glimpse behind the scenes of what RCMP emergency telecommunications operators do. #reddeer911 #OCCtober #RCMP

Kelly has been a 911 Dispatcher for 20 years. In Oct. 2018 a 6cm lump was found on her left breast. Kelly's strength and positivity while undergoing treatment is an inspiration to us all and we honour her this #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth She is one of our #HeroesInAHeadset

Thank you from everyone at #reddeer911. Stay safe out there. Dispatch clear to you. #FirePreventionWeek
