good morning & happy new week! If your mix is covered, just a reminder that i'm also offering mastering now for digital, and your elasticstage vinyl, so that’s something i can do for you too 🔥
I always say that She Loves You, I Am the Walrus, Here Comes the Sun, and Revolution 9 are all the same song.

Guys, it’s The Beatles.
Formulaic music that got hyped into genius status by a perfect storm of timing and savvy media, not actual skill. Expert exploitation of trends already pioneered by others.
They’re a marketing phenomenon that got called the greatest because they sold a lot of records to herd-mentality teenagers, not because the music itself was ever the most advanced, demanding, or enduring rock ever made.

i wrote a free ebook on recording better vocals - zero AI, all from years of hearing what does and doesn’t work when vocals land on my desk. if yours never quite sit right in the mix, start here ⬇️

Where heavy synth-industrial crunch meets anthemic rock riffs. 'Hearts' is coming soon this November!

really? what a narrow view! Anderson did in fact write sympathetically & convincingly about girls & women; even Hemingway has a story from an adolescent girl's perspective, "Up in Michigan," that is a knockout; not to mention D.H. Lawrence, Scott Fitzgerald, Thomas Hardy & (not least) Shakespeare.
if men can't write about women, women presumably can't write about men.
educated people can't write about lesser-educated people, Black writers can't write about brown people, people from Maine can't write about people from Vermont, no one can write about anyone except the sickly face in the mirror.

I wonder what'll happen to a world where nobody has anything in common with anyone else besides the tech companies they give their money to
I got to rewatch one of my favorite vampire movies last night. Set in the ancient, crumbling old world of 1977 Pittsburgh, Martin attempts to battle his familial vampiric curse, to which he is destined to fail. One of George Romero's very best.

🌹 50 YEARS OF ‘NEW ROSE’ 🌹
On this day in 1976, we released our very first single, ‘New Rose’, and the rest, as they say, is history.
50 years later, we’re still here, thank you for your support, loyalty and beautiful damnation.
Here’s to the next chapter. 🖤🦇

23 years ago today, we lost Elliott Smith. One of the most abundantly gifted songwriters and musicians whose work has been influential on several artists in the indie community. His music means the world to me. Elliott is dearly missed. 🖤

Coming from someone who had terrible life btw. Dostoevsky for sure endured every bitterness yet chose to remain gentle.

So much quality music on the show last night. It’s crazy that most of the indie folks are making their stuff for fun, when, imho, it’s far superior to most of the mainstream crap (that those “artists” make millions from). Check it out, honestly you won’t be disappointed!
