@AndreaEganGS @unisontheunion - you must be very proud octopus.energy/power-to-the-…
How very sad this is for the movement. It is not over yet.

Octopus picked a union. Its workers picked GMB.
Recognition isn't something a boss hands to whichever union it prefers.
It's won by the people doing the work. Our members.
We're not going anywhere. 🐙✊

The Jackdaw announcement is great news. Burnham’s government deserves real credit for doing the right thing for our country.
For too long, this and other vital decisions on gas supplies and storage have been put off: risking our energy security at a volatile time.

A pleasure to join the Parliamentary Research Service for their 15th anniversary.
15 years of brilliant research and the staff who make it happen.
GMB London is proud to be a recognised union at PRS. Here's to the next 15! ✊

Energy workers keep the lights on. Their jobs and their skills must be at the centre of every decision on our energy future.
Thank you @andrewpakes_ for making the case for GMB Energy members as Jackdaw gets the green light. 👇

The Home Secretary is a once in a generation reformer. Every minister in @andyburnham’s govt needs to back her 100%.
Energy Sec refuses to answer, multiple times, whether she backs the government's immigration proposal.
🗣️ @SophyRidgeSky asks - "Do you support plans for people to live in the UK for 15 years before they get permanent residency?"

🤖🚗 Robocabs need a reality check.
We welcome the @LondonAssembly report on driverless cars: drivers’ jobs protected, passengers kept safe and a just transition before deployment.
And we shouldn’t be afraid to say no.

Heathrow's third runway has slipped to 2039. The hold-up is planning and red tape. Politicians can fix that.

Energy companies and unions have gone hand in hand for generations for very good reasons.
This is an industry where safety, training and having the right skills truly matter.
Workers deserve a strong voice in all three.
Our energy officer rang the entire energy industry to ask one question.
Every large energy company in Britain recognises a union. One doesn't. 🐙
@OctopusEnergy seems like a good time to talk.

Royal Parks gardeners keep these world-class parks alive. They love the job. They are sick of begging for the wages that come with it.
Our members are done asking. Idverde get back around the table.

Wayve driverless taxis just landed on the Uber app. So what happens to the people who actually drive?
On BBC Radio London this morning, GMB's Kola Olalekan asked the questions no one's answering.

TfL and the Government need to answer the big questions for 100,000s of professional drivers and the millions of workers whose jobs and livelihoods depend on them.
Before risking it all on driverless vehicles, where is the plan for the workers?

Today's launch of driverless taxis in London is concerning.
There is no plan to deal with the fallout of potentially thousands of people losing their jobs.
TfL and the Government urgently need to consider the consequences.

"Jobs. Jobs. Jobs."
GMB London Aviation Officer Perry Phillips gave evidence to the Transport Select Committee today on Heathrow expansion.
108,000 jobs. 17,000 in construction at peak. 5,000 apprenticeships.
But the ground handlers Perry represents aren't asking for themselves. They're asking whether their kids get the same shot at a secure, well-paid, unionised job at Heathrow
That's what's on the table.

Robotaxis could have a detrimental impact on jobs, congestion and public transport.
With the guidance needed to get them onto London’s streets now delayed, @EllyBakerAM is urging @TfL to take these risks seriously before launch.
