Orchestrations of orange wove a toy
or ornate offerings to overjoy:
oases of overflowing ochre,
hued like pumpkins or a glowing poker!

Fuchsia wings start overlapping;
in the breeze they're almost flapping
Serrated leaves serve as wrapping,

Strictly solitary, slightly scary, skilled at a striking scorpion-like stance, and somewhat suitable for the spooky season...? It's the devil's coach-horse beetle (Ocypus olens) !
