Will 3M go bankrupt? Freeze or cut the dividend? Vis a vis Aero Ear Plug debacle.
Beware the Guns of August! If you know, then you know! Another political scandal in August. A long list oddly always occurring in August.

Speaking of Balance Sheets = News Flash = JnJ has more cash than debt these days as of Q2. To the tune of $4 Billion more cash than debt. Hmmmm......Could an acquisition be in the offing, given that JnJ overall sales will go down bc if upcoming Consumer Spinoff??

Well, whaddayaknow!!! GE's balance sheet is suddenly strong!!!!

Whatever you do in life, never ever sell a Big Pharma stock. Pfizer, GSK, JNJ, and some selected others. Pfizer's Sales and Cash Flows these days are astronomical!!!
2
The next oil crash will be glorious for Big Oil dividend investors!!! Strong balance sheets being built up now to weather the storm and yields will be high AND SUSTAINABLE. Of note, XOM, CVX, and Shell, in particular.

Aflac is a fantastic investment! It's really both a stock and a bond. It has so much underlying bond assets. Interest rate hikes will continue to boost up profits.
Google has more cash on hand than many fortune 500 companies have in annual sales. Big Tech is not Big Tech. It's really "Big Life".
Smoke 'em if you got 'em ! Suddenly BTI is in the 30s again.

Disney will never bring back the dividend 😔 Shameful. Once an "entitlement" (aka long reliable dividend) is gone, human nature dictates it unlikely to return.
If NSRGY & UL were interested in Haleon, that's a solid vote of confidence. Debt will come down in a few years. Haleon may be a nice niche cash generator holding. Similar to JnJ's upcoming Consumer Spinoff. Solid bricks in one's financial fortress !
Interested in people's view of GSK's consumer spinoff of Haleon. Fantastic brands cash flow statement; something like 16% of cash flows from Ooerations are for Capex. Very low % Lots of debt but backed up by stable brands (Sensodyne, Centrum, etc) and Rev of $13B.
Scary thought. Current low unemployment rate = good. Inflation rate high = bad. What happens when higher interest rates force employers to pay more to service debt and reduce hiring. Net effect. High inflation with higher unemployment. 😨 😲
Interested in people's opinions on current vs future state of 3M and related investment/dividend thesis! Seeeking out the legendary Tim Macleenan / @TCII_Blog for his wisdom! 👋, particularly vis-a-vis recently announced 3M spinoff

Walmart is getting smoked by Dollar Tree and similar dollar stores. Dollar Tree is actually not a bad personal shopping experience. It's decent, clean, orderly, and less crowded.
Buy dominant companies in Energy, Food & Healthcare. Chevron, Exxon, Shell, Nestle, General Mills, Unilver, Coke, JnJ, GSK, Pfizer. Buy selectively at reasonable prices & when stocks are down (such as now). Reinvest dividends. Never sell. Yes, investing is just that simple.

Inflation will just lead to more AI, Machine Learning, & Robotics, in an effort to cut costs of human inflation (ie; Salaries). Buy a basket of Big Tech stocks or buy Alphabet as a catch-all, or risk being on the outside looking in. If you can't beat Big Tech join (own) them!

Reading some credible analyst reports. Alphabet to generate $1 Trillion in Revenue by 2030. Anti-trust break-up or no-break, Alphabet is the 21st century version of Standard Oil. It's not too late in their runway to pick up a few shares or partial shares via Schwab Slices

Instead of drinking 21 beers on a college kid's 21st birthday, they should instead (or in addition) aim for a different right of passage = ie; To invest $2,100 in a dividend paying blue chip stock (KO, JNJ, PG, etc). Makes for a lifetime of difference in one's future.

Is it that hard to save $100 per year per kid for 21 years, and hand them (or have the kid co-contribute) to saving that $2,100 on their 21st birthday?! Likely not. 40 years later = compounding would be easy and produce impressive results.
