Follow me as I seek to explain & validate the argument that wins the vaccine debate. My🧵s in search of the truth. 1) What happened in New Zealand? How and why does a small island country show us beyond doubt how safe vaccines are? xitter.cf/MauritzPreller/status/…

Clear evidence that covid vaccines are safe can be found in New Zealand, a country of ~ 5.1m people where ~12,8m vaccines were administered to date. As the graph below from NZ health shows, most of those were administered from March 2021 to March 2022. tewhatuora.govt.nz/our-healt…

There’s a lot of alarm about "injecting #aluminium into a newborn" through the hepatitis B vaccine. But how much aluminium are we actually talking about? How does it compare with other exposures? And, most importantly, what does the safety evidence show? Let's look at the numbers. 🧵
Aluminum Salts, that are utilized as an adjuvant in vaccines, are a known neurotoxin that does cross the BBB. The amount has grown with the schedule and has never been studied in aggregate. That is a fact.

Why vaccinate so soon after birth? Because hepatitis B can be transmitted during childbirth. For an exposed newborn, prevention is time-sensitive. The WHO recommends a hepatitis B birth dose for all infants, preferably within 24 hours. For babies born to mothers with hepatitis B infection, prompt vaccination together with hepatitis B immune globulin (HBIG) provides particularly strong protection. The CDC reports approximately 94% effectiveness against perinatal transmission when vaccine and HBIG are combined. There is an important policy distinction: since December 2025, the US CDC has recommended shared decision-making about the birth dose when the mother tests negative for hepatitis B. Vaccination within 12 hours remains recommended when maternal status is positive or unknown. Different recommendations about universal birth vaccination do not change the biological risks of hepatitis B infection or the evidence about aluminium adjuvants. The birth dose is part of a wider prevention strategy involving maternal screening, timely protection and completion of the vaccine series. So where does all this leave us? Let's bring the numbers together. A paediatric Engerix-B vaccine contains 0.25 mg of aluminium. That's approximately the mass of one ordinary 0.5 mm grain of salt. Aluminium is also naturally ingested through milk and formula, sometimes in quantities exceeding that mass daily. But ingested and injected aluminium are not biologically equivalent. The distinction matters. What matters more is the scientific evidence. We have pharmacokinetic research, decades of clinical experience, large population studies and a 2026 systematic review that collectively provide substantial reassurance about aluminium-adjuvanted vaccine safety. We also have evidence of real, generally localised adverse reactions and unresolved uncertainty about some rare outcomes. And we have a virus that, when acquired in infancy, can establish lifelong infection and eventually cause fatal liver disease. The question isn't whether aluminium is present. It is. The question is whether the evidence demonstrates a clinically important risk from that exposure, and how that risk compares with the benefits of vaccination. The available evidence strongly supports the safety of aluminium-adjuvanted childhood vaccines. That's a conclusion drawn from studying actual health outcomes, not from pretending that 0.25 mg is magically harmless because it sounds small. Understand the dose. Understand the exposure. Understand the evidence. And understand the disease we're preventing.

H5N1. The road to "herd immunity" and all that.
There is something really concerning (and disappointing) going on in the US right now. A dangerous and preventable situation. Let me explain. nextstrain.org/avian-flu/h5n… 1/
