And the 9th recipient of the MikeJY Holo Cat Shield Pin and 9th member of the #HallOfVeeFam is.....
@May_Niu !!!
May has been working in the @garyvee universe since 2017. Her presence growing Gary's brand internationally has been instrumental in bringing Gary's message to countless countries and millions of people.
May was one of the first 5 employees of @veefriends and my early memories of her date back to Twitter spaces where her excitement for the brand was literally popping off the screen. Every time a new speaker came up on stage, May was so excited to call out their character and explain why she loved that one.
My first time meeting May was at @veecon 1 in Minneapolis. Stranded in a line to get into the Johnnie Walker #GiftGoat event (I was not yet a GiftGoat), chaos started to ensue as people were told the venue was at capacity and people could not get in. Who came with a smile on her face and a positive demeanor that helped diffuse the situation? May of course. She handled the issue like a champ and I will always remember how great of a job I felt she did handling a stressful situation.
The next time I would see May was at the 2023 National in Chicago, displaying her love and loyalty to the growing VF brand for all to see. May has the best smile you'll ever see, and how great to have that on display to new people to help them fall in love with these characters the same way she already had.
Most importantly in my book though above everything else, I know that all of the people May leads as head of socials for VF absolutely love her. Having leadership like her is invaluable in building VF into the powerhouse IP we all hope it will become one day. Her tireless efforts do not go unnoticed by the community, and we all know how important you are May to building this brand, and believe me when I say this, when I make conviction plays on VF it is because I fully believe in people like you.
She is amazing in every way, she doesn't want the attention but we are forcing it on her.
May, you are the ninth member of the #HallOfVeeFam
THANK YOU for all that you do

How reading @veefriends comic #5 went
From the initial „shock“ of a very different side of Veefriends, to being drawn into the art and storytelling, and navigating the emotional weight of its topic.

Big news💥! I’ve accepted a promotion to the new role of Executive Creative Director at VeeFriends 🧱
Something most people don’t know about me: I don’t just draw comics and tell stories - I build positive creative teams that get shit done.
I’m excited to help my friend @garyvee grow VeeFriends into one of the greatest storytelling brands of ALL TIME
No foolin’. Just watch…
What I love most about working with Gary is he reminds me that we don’t have to do things the way they’ve always been done. We get to blaze a new and brighter path.
The sky is never the limit. ✏️
Big big thanks to @krainak (prez) and May (ops!) for being great humans, leaders and thinkers. I feel so blessed to work with this crew.

Another brick not only for @veefriends, but also my 13 year old self.
Grateful for @garyvee for allowing me to work on projects like these, the VF team, and @Canvas_MKTG for bringing this to life with us.

Takeaways from working my first card show for @veefriends and being at the company almost 4 years:
- We are so dang early
- The Black Cat is the Black Cat
- We’re building something real, that is cool, AND impactful. Everybody else is just doing cool
- The characters are the Trojan horse for the traits
- If you’re 38, Empathy Elephant can help you. But if you meet Empathy Elephant at 8, you don’t need him as much at 38
- Topps Chrome put VeeFriends brand growth potential on hyperdrive. Curry collab throws more gas on the fire.
- Not all 🧱s are created equal. But all 🧱s are 🧱s - and that’s what matters
- The stories are the alpha. If they continue to crush, our only job is to make sure people read them. If they do, the rest takes care of itself.
- I talked to hundreds of people this weekend, 98% had never heard the term ‘VeeFriends’ in their life - even after Chrome. After hearing about it for 2 minutes, they love it. That’s rare
- We are early af
- Once you open a pack yourself, it’s game over
- The National is going to be epic. If you can go, you should.
- Did I mention how early we are?
Big week ahead with Manga Super Stickers public presale tomorrow, Creative FriendsCaps dropping later in the week, and a lot of prep for the back half of July.
Let’s get back to work 🐈⬛

Decided at 9am that I would drive 1 hr 40 min to Shipshewana. I've been hearing about this place my whole life but it was Veefriends that got me to finally visit this quaint Amish town😁 It was so nice talking with you Braden and May. So glad I went. Veefriends=happy place. Made my weekend.
