Small in stature but not in courage, 245 years ago today, RI became the first colony to declare independence by officially renouncing allegiance to King George III. From 1776 to 2021, we’ve kept that free-spirited independence burning brightly. Happy #RIIndependenceDay2021!
Happy #MayForth to all Rhode Islanders: On today's date in 1776, Little Rhody passed this resolution, declaring itself free and independent from the "debasing and detestable Tyranny" of King George III. #RIIndependenceDay

Rhode Island may be small, but our economy is mighty on the strength of our small businesses and innovative technologies. As Secretary of Commerce, I will harness that same American ingenuity to create good-paying union jobs and build our economy back better than ever before.
Our deepest sympathies to the family of @BRappleye. He was true media professional and will be missed.
The pandemic has demonstrated how valuable out of school programs are for children from all backgrounds. Worthy of our attention and investment in 2021! @PawtucketYMCA

Another compelling lineup of speakers and ideas this year. Thank you to @SenWhitehouse for continuing to coordinate this important event. #EEODayRI
Glad to be kicking off my annual RI Energy, Environment and Oceans Leaders Day. Our event is virtual this year and we’ve got a great lineup of speakers to discuss the latest policy developments in the environmental world. Follow along at #EEODayRI.
A fantastic look at what cooperation between environmental advocates and business can achieve: @pewenvironment buying up surplus oysters for habitat restoration projects helps to support the oyster industry through a difficult downturn.
