Since the preseason started, I’ve been increasingly anxious that something bad might happen to one of the Spurs or that Wemby is hurt or sick or will be. I am a neurotic person, but a lot of times my specific thoughts like this turn out to be right and someone I fear for falls ill or is hurt. I feel this way more each game and maybe it’s me being crazy but maybe it’s just a good idea to pray anyways and pray more broadly too bc so many people are getting hurt in the game.
There’s like a bad and painful energy in the game, and normally these games are competitive but in a fun way and not bleak like the bad and painful energy in the country.

This is actually a condescending view of working-class people. I grew up in a working-class immigrant family and we ate at Red Lobster and The Cheesecake Factory for "fancy nights out." But even we understood that the White House should not look like the inside of a Red Lobster. Working-class people are not culturally illiterate just because their experiences are shaped by their limited means.
