"Overheating of expectations"? Democrats well positioned to take the House but capturing the Senate is much less certain as it depends on winning multiple red states that voted for Trump and often have not favored Democrats for decades. @llerer nytimes.com/2026/10/24/us/po…

Pro-democracy forces have won in Brazil and Serbia in the last few days and I so hope they win in Israel today by defeating Netanyahu. And then win next week in our midterms here. I hope and believe the global far right tide is turning.

Huge democratic breakthrough in Serbia tonight, followed by a Lula win in Brazil!
Amazing day for democratic renewal.
Bad day for illiberal populists.

I see some chatter about whether the size of a House Dem majority will matter, but it obviously does; the new left-wingers joining the conference have a lot of clout if it's 225-210, not much if it's 235-200.
Today, The Cook Political Report is moving 19 more House races, all in Democrats' direction. Six districts are moving from the Toss Up column to Lean Democrat. Two more open seats are moving from Lean Republican to Toss Up.

This is the cheating we have been raising concerns about. A weaponized DOJ to help the GOP win elections. The only thing that will beat them is a massive vote against them.
