The presence of ear rot diseases should be a key consideration when determining harvest timing. Fungi that cause ear rots can continue to grow, spread, and produce mycotoxins after corn reaches maturity and during storage if grain is not dry. Read more at cropprotectionnetwork.org/pu…. Seeing is believing! 🐛🌿 #bollworm devastation on non-Bt cotton vs Bt cotton. A clear win for Bt and why we need to work so hard to preserve it! @AusCottonSci @Cotton_Guy @NCcropbiotech

A fungal disease that can cause yield loss in #corn has been found in #Arkansas. While it has been active in the Midwest since 2015, tar spot has never been confirmed in commercial Arkansas agriculture. Learn more at bit.ly/Ark-tar-spot-found. @AgInArk

Amazed at what cotton breeders have achieved over the last century. The plot on the right has had no nitrogen fertilizer, no cover crops, and has been planted in cotton every year since 1896…but it STILL yields over a bale of cotton per acre.

Curvularia leaf spot on corn in Alabama. Symptoms include small tan spots w/t brown margins that may have a yellow halo. Lesions seen in mid/upper canopy. Widely considered to be an aesthetic issue and not a yield-limiting disease. Also has funky-looking spores #Corn #Fungi

Beautiful symptoms of Curvularia leaf spot on corn leaves. Curvularia symptoms look very similar to those caused by the eyespot fungus. Mississippi's sultry summer weather is likely too hot for the eyespot fungus, but it's always a good idea to confirm with microscopy! 🤓#MSUext

Since we are several weeks removed from the bulk of the foliar fungicide applications, remember that phytotoxicity can occur following ANY triazole (DMI) application. Typically symptoms associated with phyto show up 3-weeks post-trt. No yield losses result from phyto #mscrops
