BREAKING: Inflation drops to lowest levels in 3 years, back down to 2.4%
US inflation has historically been around 2-3% per year
US recovered faster from inflation than any other top economy
So if you still see prices climbing out of control, that’s PRICE GOUGING by retailers

If you have not yet mailed in your mail ballot and are concerned it may not arrive by Election Day, you can bring the ballot with you to your polling center and cancel the mail ballot and vote regular way. If you are disabled, you are entitled to advance to front of line. Sorry but you cannot just turn in your mail ballot at a polling center. The GOP dominated state Lege doesn’t permit that.

Like fireworks? It’s time for the greatest show on earth. 💥
Stargazers, look up! It’s time for the Perseid meteor shower. Head out the night of Aug. 11 and before dawn on Aug. 12 for a chance to see some celestial fireworks. go.nasa.gov/4fBoN8F

Let’s go, Texas. We have a little over 100 days to get out the vote but only a little over 70 days to get folks registered to vote. So what can you do right now? Obviously donate and call up to volunteer. What else? 1. make sure you and yours voter registration is up to date. Go here to do that: texas.gov/living-in-texas/te…. Do it now. Every election some folks show up at the polling place where I am working thinking they are registered when they are not. Some have moved and never got around to updating their address. Others may have meant to but never did. Regardless, don’t be that person. Check it out. Nail it down. Do it now, @harrisdemocrats

Again, a moment to pause & appreciate the cool professionalism of those in & around the Key Bridge at 1:24 am Tuesday.
Ship’s pilot radios in that ship has lost steerage & will hit bridge.

Reflecting on the tragedy of Apollo 1, OTD 57 years ago. To the memory of Gus Grissom, Ed White and Roger Chaffee. Never forgotten. I was 11 years old at the time & can still recall the school memorial assembly on the Monday morning after the accident.

I’ve been seeing this account all over my feed lately and I just wanted to say that they blatantly spread misinformation and don’t credit any of the people whose photos they use.
It’s really sad that so many people follow. It really does impact us science communicators.

I almost missed this moment on console. Was heads down when I caught this view out of the corner of my eye. Dropped everything and stared… in silence.
