LEIOS: BUILD THE LANES OR BRING THE CARS? @0xNLYFANS calls it an idle engine, arguing capacity alone won't create demand or cut fees. @MeAtayev argues Cardano should build headroom before congestion, with fee changes handled through governance. Technical catch: CIP-164's Linear Leios removes the separate Input Blocks in the older three-block research design cited in the exchange. More capacity isn't a guarantee of more users. $ADA

First, record-keeping products are a simple model the market already tested and moved past a long time ago. Even when you sell them as a solution, they rarely turn into real revenue or profit. Back in 2019 there were tons of blockchain solutions for hospital records, anti-counterfeit coupons, logistics data and so on. Most of them are gone now. The model just doesn't work in today's market. Second, even if this passes, it's not a project that puts Cardano on the map. Record verification can run on any chain, so it doesn't show off anything unique about Cardano or add to its value. Third, the transaction volume is tiny compared to the investment. On top of that, transactions get batched, and agencies will push batch sizes as high as they can to cut costs. So even after 9.6M ADA, real volume is very likely to be ridiculously low. Lastly, even if other governments use this framework, there'll be more costs to integrate it with their legacy systems. You don't just build it once and plug it in elsewhere. Every new government needs its own integration work, and that's exactly what this proposal is asking us to pay for. If we fund things just because they use the Cardano network, there's no proposal we could ever say no to. And again, this isn't even a good reference case. Look at DTCC on Canton. America's securities clearing and settlement giant, processing quadrillions of dollars a year, just started tokenizing US Treasuries on Canton with more than 30 financial institutions. That's the kind of use case we should be chasing. And I don't think landing something like that would even take 9.6M ADA. We need to be realistic. There's no reason to spend a limited treasury on proposals with no numbers and no results.
Replying to @InputEndorsers
I think you guys are viewing this from a bit of a narrow lense that I find interesting @dori_coin @InputEndorsers It's a big ask, yes, but why are we assuming that the only measure of value for Cardano is immediately attracting liquidity and users? And why are we assuming that value can only go one way? That if it benefits Telengana, that means it doesn't benefit the Cardano ecosystem? Cardano is a general-purpose blockchain and surely our approach to ecosystem advancement should reflect that? We're talking about open-source infrastructure that aims to encourage government/institutional adoption. By a team that has already demonstrated several things: they have the government relationships, they have the ability to build and deliver and they are responsible for transaction volumes on Cardano today. Isnt' that exactly who we should be investing in? I also find it interesting that we're seemingly completely glossing over the fact that this would indeed create new transaction volume and revenue for Cardano, as well as create new opportunities for other governments to use the framework this would establish. I understand the skepticism due to the size of the proposal for sure, I definitely do not understand the negativity around the actual proposal and what they're trying to do. Seems like a fantastic use-case and opportunity to expand Cardano's adoption horizons to me....

Really excited about our AMA tomorrow here on X where Rahul and I will discuss the current implementation and how this changes the social systems of criminal forensics and justice but also the next step for this use case.
Police in India’s most populous state now track criminal evidence on Cardano. Every scan and lab result is hashed on-chain, live on active cases in Uttar Pradesh. Our new case study breaks down how @TrivolveTech built it. Check it out: cardanofoundation.org/case-s…

Hello, Cardano! Tomorrow’s AMA with @F_Gregaard is one you won’t want to miss!🔥 We’ll discuss the success of @trivolvetech ‘s FMS and how this success has opened doors to PFMS, the biggest government project ever on Cardano. We’re talking government scale adoption, massive on chain activity, new money flowing into the ecosystem and what comes next for Cardano. Please join us, it’ll be a fun ride. Buckle up. The next chapter is just beginning. 🚀

#Satoshi laid the foundation with #UTXO; Cardano perfected it with #eUTXO. Preserving #Bitcoin's parallelism, predictability, and security while unlocking complex smart contracts #Cardano proves Satoshi’s core design remains the gold standard for scalable blockchain architecture
Satoshi’s Bitcoin Design Powers Far More Than BTC Arkham Intelligence points to the UTXO model as a key part of Satoshi Nakamoto’s legacy. The system tracks funds as separate spendable outputs rather than account balances. Arkham has drawn attention to a surprising detail in Bitcoin’s $BTC original whitepaper. The document never uses the term UTXO. The concept appears in Section 9, titled “Combining and Splitting Value.” Satoshi described transactions with multiple inputs and outputs, including payments and change. Developers adopted the UTXO label years later, around 2011 to 2012. Litecoin (@litecoin) $LTC, Dogecoin (@dogecoin) $DOGE, Zcash (@Zcash) $ZEC and Bitcoin Cash $BCH all use the accounting system. Cardano (@Cardano) $ADA runs a modified version designed to support smart contracts.

Replying to fundamental misunderstanding of @0xNLYFANS on how Ouroboros Leios works. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
I call bullshit. The flaw in Leios is that blocks aren’t produced until the network hits capacity. When did that last happen? It doesn’t reduce fees or create induced demand. So you’re turning on an idle, secondary spillover block production function with no users. No?

Why order matters? You cannot safely slash transaction fees on a constrained network without inviting severe mempool congestion, latency spikes, and spam attacks. Leios provides the structural headroom required to make low-fee protocol parameters secure and sustainable.

Induced demand requires both High throughput (Leios) + low, predictable fees (Governance) = the exact environment needed for high-frequency DeFi, micro-payments, and enterprise RealFi. @0xNLYFANS Leios isn't an idle engine it's the foundation that unlocks cheaper transactions.
