The actual performance of mouse skates depends on the surface they’re paired with. The same skates may behave differently on glass mousepads with different coatings and surface textures. Therefore, we can’t judge their overall performance based solely on the skate material or my experience with them on a single mousepad surface.
These mouse skates can reduce texture feedback during gliding, making the overall feel smoother while adding a certain degree of stopping power. When used on faster mousepads, they tend to reduce the overall speed.
On coated pads that are already quite smooth, they may introduce some additional resistance during left-to-right directional changes, making the overall feel more stable while still maintaining smooth and fluid gliding.
When used on coated pads with moderate glide speed, they can add a certain amount of drag, making mouse movements feel more controlled and stable without noticeably compromising glide smoothness.
In terms of overall speed, these skates lean more toward control and stability rather than speed. But on Aria it shows faster than Westlab orange.

Here's my thoughts on this since it's something that I constantly have thoughts about and conversations about within my community.
People should review the unit they're given yes, but they should also point out if it deviates from the norm.
I've been lucky enough to where all my units I've gotten have been exactly as described. For pads with more variance, I always point out how viewers results may differ. We review the product we receive, but we should also note that our product deviates from the norm of the majority of the community or "company intention". I'm not saying companies are always fully honest or anything, but they provide a range for what it could/should be.
This is one of the reasons I'm so against speed/texture graphs as well as showing irregular drop tests (within a certain range). If it isn't noted that there's possible variance somewhere that's easily visible or said in the video, people run with it and take it as fact.
Glasspads are not cheap, and I think like in the photo that Zowie showed people shouldn't just be able to assume everything a reviewer says is 1000% fact. Yes atp it's up to the viewer to do their research across multiple videos, but there's always those that have their complete trust in ONE reviewer solely. Some people are like that with me, and I appreciate that but I won't always be correct just like everyone else.
There will always be variance, but it's the responsibility of the reviewer to make it clear so the viewers know exactly what they're watching and if this is a review they should even consider when looking at the pad as a whole. Take the SP004/005 for example, some units are slower than the cr005. If a reviewer states that, a viewer can easily be like "oh this probably isn't a video depicting a typical unit" (although wallhacks QC is notoriously horrid)
Reviewing is complicated, and I understand that people are just trying to have fun with it. It's a lot of money on the line for people who trust reviewers though.
I do want to address that I don't really agree with how the post was went about with because I genuinely believe a majority of it can be solved by just finding common ground, but it is what it is.
You guys know I'll always give my thoughts on stuff like this because I do think it's important. I'm not here to hate on anyone obviously because it's not about that. It's just about the community more than anything.

The fact that the graph doesn't say that there's possible variance 😭😭😭. People spread it around to others and those people spread it around to more people. It doesn't even have to be people who watch you that spread it.
People just assume it's right and spread it which is why it's so harmful to not say there's variance IN THE GRAPH
