I have a serious problem. My heart wants to travel everywhere, but how do you explain to a restless soul that the world is too beautiful to explore only through Google Maps?
I want to chase sunsets, get lost in beautiful villages, climb mountains, listen to strangers’ stories, and discover places that remind me how wonderful life can be. 🌿❤️
Because sometimes, we travel not to escape life, but to remind ourselves why life is worth living.
And perhaps the most beautiful thing about adventure isn’t the destination, but the people we meet, the laughter we share, and the memories we carry home.
So here I am, choosing memories over excuses, curiosity over fear, and adventure over boredom!
I’m Melissa. I may not know where every road leads, but trust me, we’ll have a story to tell! 😂🌍
Welcome to #ExploreWithMelissa ❤️✨
P.S. Dear future husband, I hope you love travelling. Otherwise, our honeymoon might become a solo expedition! 🤣

Today, I proudly celebrate a significant milestone: my registration as a Professional Engineer in Uganda, under the Engineers Registration Board (ERB), Registration No. 2313, in Mining Engineering. This achievement reflects years of professional practice, dedication and rigorous assessment. I sincerely appreciate the ERB and UIPE for upholding professional excellence.
Engineering is more than technical expertise; it is an instrument of innovation, problem-solving and nation-building. This recognition carries a greater responsibility to uphold professional ethics and translate engineering knowledge into solutions that advance Uganda's industrialisation, mineral resource development and sustainable transformation.
I receive this milestone with gratitude, humility and renewed purpose. Professional registration is not the destination; it is the beginning of greater responsibility. The true measure of an engineer lies in the value of solutions delivered and the lives transformed.

“AFCON 2027 will provide Uganda with an important moment in the international spotlight, but what we do with that opportunity is what will matter most.
Let us use this partnership to introduce more people to Uganda, create new reasons for them to visit, and build lasting relationships with markets that will continue to bring visitors to our country long after the tournament.”

I had just left Arena Mall when I encountered a boda boda rider with some very interesting theories. 😂😂
Me: Take me to Kansanga.
Him: Where exactly?
Me: Let’s go. I’ll tell you where to stop.
Him: Kansanga is 4K if we’re to stop at the main road. If we’re going off the main road, you’ll have to add something.
Me: I have 3K and I’m stopping along the main road.
We agreed and set off. A few metres into the journey, he started another conversation.
Him: Did you see that video of a girl from Makerere University?
Me: No! Tell me what happened.
Him: There was a party, and apparently a female student undressed herself while fellow students recorded her. What’s even more surprising is that she’s the daughter of a General.
Me: Oh, Lord! That’s really bad. How did you find out?
Him: Eh! TikTok came through. When I’m not riding, I’m usually on TikTok listening to political commentary and trending topics. That’s my biggest area of interest.
Me: If you analyse the situation carefully, what do you think could have pushed her to undress herself?
Him: I can tell you that there are people behind all this. That girl was probably meant to tarnish the institution’s name. Whatever is happening on that hill is not accidental. When we were at Makerere, it was a leading research institution. Students had a voice and the university was known for producing prominent Ugandan politicians. It was once among the best in Africa. So, where is it today?
Me: You mean it’s intentional?
Him: Yes! The owners of a university along Ggaba Road, who also own this country, don’t want to see Makerere grow. They look at everything as business. Do you think parents will continue taking their children to a university where students undress themselves in public?
Me: I don’t think so.
Him: Everything is happening behind the curtains. We shall see big institutions fall because even the government doesn’t want educated people.
Me: Sebo, I’m stopping at Rubis. 😂😂😂
😂🦍 Be honest, what do you think is going through this gorilla’s mind right now?
A heartbreak? Unpaid bills? Or is he simply tired of jungle politics? 🤣🌿

Uganda Named Official Destination Sponsor for CAF AFCON 2027.
Uganda has secured Official Destination Sponsor rights for TotalEnergies CAF AFCON PAMOJA 2027 through a landmark partnership between the Uganda Tourism Board @TourismBoardUg and CAF @CAF_Online .
Co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania from 19th June to 17th July 2027, the tournament offers an unprecedented global spotlight, bringing the Explore Uganda brand to an estimated audience of over 3 billion people worldwide across broadcast, digital, and stadium platforms.
Uganda Tourism Board CEO @JulzKagwa described AFCON 2027 as the country's largest tourism marketing opportunity in a generation. The strategy centers on welcoming fans, teams, media, and officials not just as spectators, but as tourists who will experience Uganda’s premier wildlife, rich culture, local cuisine, and natural beauty.
Stressing the long term vision, Minister of State for Tourism Hon. Susan Nakawuki Nsambu @MTWAUganda called on the sector to create competitive travel packages combining football with signature Ugandan experiences.
"Let us use this agreement to build lasting relationships and market momentum that will continue bringing visitors to Uganda long after the final whistle blows."
The goal remains clear, convert international visibility into direct bookings, economic growth, job creation, and sustainable tourism momentum.

Behind Kapere’s life lies a story that should make us reflect as a society.
A child rejected because of his appearance and hearing impairment, who grew up facing hardships, yet found a way to turn his pain into laughter for others. 💔
His story reminds us that people living with disabilities and those who look different from us don’t need our pity; they need acceptance, dignity, opportunity and a place where they feel they belong.
Communities must create platforms of comfort, love and opportunity where everyone can be seen, heard and celebrated.
Sometimes, the people we push to the margins are the very people carrying extraordinary gifts. Let us not wait until they are gone to recognise their worth. ❤️
