We are proud to announce the innovators selected for the 2026 cohort of the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance program.
FAPA, a facility of African Development Bank Group, is supporting this Pan-African cohort drawn from 5 cohorts of the Home Grown Solutions initiative.
The paper by David Lewer titled “Factors associated with: problems of using exploratory multivariable regression to identify causal risk factors” [Link: bmjmedicine.bmj.com/content/…] articulates perfectly the critical issues researchers must consider.
Of course, I don’t advocate for quick poorly conducted research but rather prescribed procedures for such studies to be valid.
That said, how can multiple comparison procedures (MCPs) such Bonferonni’s be applied in “factors associated with” studies?
I would be eager to know what my favorite podcast hosts of @casualinfer think @EpiEllie @LucyStats or share any resources I might not be aware of.

November was an amazing month at MSCAN. We held yet another successful MSCAN device deployment and Point of Care Ultrasound training.
In collaboration with @IDIMakerere, we trained 6 midwives in Point of Care Ultrasound, deployed 6 MSCAN machines in Palabek refugee settlement.
