Today, I broke ground for a 30-bed maternity block with an operating theatre at Mbudzi Dispensary, Jaribuni Ward, Ganze Constituency.
Once complete, the facility will bring quality, affordable maternity care closer to families, reduce long-distance travel and strengthen emergency services for mothers and newborns.
I appreciate the Equalisation Fund team, led by Advisory Board Chairman Amb. (Eng.) Mahboub Maalim, for their partnership.
Because every mother deserves a safe delivery, and every newborn a healthy start in life! 💚

Through the Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP2), we have upgraded key roads in Kalolo, Kibaoni, Baya Magonzi and Mtaani in Kilifi Town.
The works include Msenangu Butchery Road, Kibaoni Primary School Road, Uwanja wa Water–Kaya Road and Samaki Poa Road, complemented by improved drainage, street lighting and footpaths.
For residents, this means easier access to schools, homes and businesses, safer movement and reduced flooding risks.
Our commitment remains clear: no community should be left behind as we build a safer, more accessible and prosperous Kilifi.

Iwe usiku au mchana, Kilifi lazima ing’are!

We discussed the challenges my administration has faced, how we have addressed them, the milestones achieved across key sectors and our commitment to improving service delivery.
Leadership is not about the absence of challenges, but the courage to confront them, deliver results and remain accountable to the people we serve.

I attended the 10th German-African Healthcare Forum 2026, held on the sidelines of the World Health Summit in Berlin, Germany, alongside CECM for Health and Sanitation, Hon. Peter Mwarogo.
During the forum, I held separate engagements with Siemens and other leading medical technology companies to explore opportunities for acquiring MRI, mammography and echocardiogram equipment to strengthen diagnostic services in Kilifi.
Our discussions also focused on streamlining procurement processes, ensuring value for money, and establishing sustainable arrangements for equipment servicing, maintenance and technical support. I further emphasised the need for German medical equipment manufacturers to partner with African training institutions to develop local technical expertise, ensuring that modern medical equipment can be effectively serviced and maintained long after warranty periods expire.
The forum also explored stronger Africa-Germany cooperation in healthcare, the One Health approach linking human and animal health, local pharmaceutical manufacturing, research, innovation and data-driven health planning.
Held on the sidelines of the World Health Summit 2026, which attracted over 4,000 participants from 130 countries and territories, the engagements highlighted the importance of international partnerships in strengthening healthcare systems.

I participated in a high-level roundtable discussion on Advancing Maternal Health Through AI-Medical Solutions at the World Health Summit 2026 in Berlin, Germany, organised by the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) in partnership with Philips.
Joined by Kilifi CECM for Health, Hon. Peter Mwarogo, I engaged with Prof. Marleen Temmerman of Aga Khan University, Nairobi, Dr. Matthew Rielly of Philips, Prof. Stephen Rulisa of ECSACOG, and Dr. Jirair Ratevosian of Duke Global Health Institute, alongside doctors, researchers and healthcare experts from across the world.
Our discussions focused on AI-supported point-of-care ultrasound, a technology that can bring essential pregnancy scans closer to mothers, support early detection of complications and enable timely referrals, particularly in underserved communities.
I shared Kilifi’s journey in implementing healthcare innovations, the challenges encountered and opportunities to expand these solutions through stronger partnerships, training and investment.
