The #NoSurprisesAct is in effect! This law offers relief from unexpected out-of-network bills & reinforces our belief that you shouldn't go bankrupt when seeking necessary care. @CMSGov is working to ensure consumers know their rights under the law. go.cms.gov/3JAPmuH

Wonderful to see this piece out in the world! Read about how @LATIN19NC has linked community engagement and empowerment to policy. With @vivimbmd @KerenHendel @NikhilChaudhr15 @SebilikesYou @BassConnections @Duke_FamMed @DukeMargolis @DukeHealth
In their new blog, @AndreaThoumi + contributing authors in thread, from @DukeMargolis discuss how LATIN-19, a coalition that connects Latinx communities in North Carolina to #COVID19 resources, can embed health equity principles in health policies. bit.ly/3kFx40q

Three hours.
Not one question about the climate crisis.
Not one question about LGBTQ+ rights.
Not one question about immigration.
These issues are too important to ignore. #DemDebate

Three hours and no questions tonight about climate, housing, or immigration.
Climate change is an existential threat. America has a housing crisis. Children are still in cages at our border.
But you know, Ellen.

Yang: "Math"
Warren: "Data"
Now we just need a candidate whose slogan is "Econometrics" and we'll have a first year grad school curriculum

I want to thank CNN for asking a health care question--well repeating the same question from prior debates--early tonight so I can go back to watching baseball.

And now they’re going after both Biden and Warren on age.
This is so fucking gross. #DemDebate
Let’s take a break from not talking about climate change or campaign finance reform to inappropriately ask a vibrant Bernie Sanders about his heart procedure.
Goddamnit, CNN. Gross. #DemDebate

KAMALA takes a very theoretical "will a wealth tax work?" debate and turns it personal. Focuses on how real people feel about these issues. They're trying to make ends meet. Plans like Kamala's $500/mo. tax credit for working families is big change in someone's life.

Well done, Booker. You have to compare and contrast to Trump's policies. You have to attack. Compared to Republicans, every Democrat on this stage is a flaming moderate (except Tulsi). #DemocraticDebate

Buttigieg on coming out as gay being a possible professional setback but then his trust in voters being returned as he was re-elected was pretty powerful stuff.

Can candidates please stop talking about #MedicareForAll #DemDebate? We need to hear about cost of prescription drugs, opioid epidemic, mental health, maternal mortality, access to care in rural and urban underserved communities—& focus on health not just healthcare.

Thank you @KamalaHarris - thank you! We need to focus on @realDonaldTrump and what he would do to health care and what he has done.

Here’s the thing about equity: if we don’t pay attention to racial and ethnic disparities in health care, we are going to make things worse. —@FrederickIsasi giving a fantastic keynote 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 #nciom2019
