🚨♻️ From vapes and batteries to mattresses and nitrous oxide canisters, some everyday items are creating major challenges for the UK's waste and recycling system. New research commissioned by SUEZ highlights the products causing the biggest disruption to recycling and recovery operations, with items containing lithium-ion batteries topping the list due to the fire risk they pose when disposed of incorrectly. 🔥 The findings are a reminder that many items we use every day need specialist disposal routes and should never be placed in household waste or recycling bins. By making sure items such as batteries, vapes and electricals are recycled correctly, we can help protect collection crews, recycling facilities and vital infrastructure, while keeping valuable materials in circulation for longer. 💚♻️ Have you ever thought about what happens to these items when they're thrown away? 👇
