I joined my colleague, PS Patrick Kilemi ( Cooperatives), MUST Chancellor Mr. Peter Ndegwa, and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Romanus Odhiambo at Meru University of Science and Technology’s (MUST) 14th Graduation Ceremony.
As a University Ambassador, I take great pride in celebrating the 2,047 graduates, including six PhD holders the highest number in the University’s history. This milestone reflects MUST’s commitment to advancing knowledge, strengthening research and fostering innovation.
Congratulations to all the graduates, their families and the entire MUST fraternity. Your hard work, dedication and perseverance have brought you to this important milestone. May the knowledge and skills you have acquired empower you to make meaningful contributions to society and drive Kenya’s socio-economic transformation.

Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) has graduated 2,047 students during its 14th graduation ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s contribution to higher education, research, innovation and national development.
Forestry Principal Secretary Mr. Gitonga Mugambi, accompanied by his Cooperatives counterpart, Mr. Patrick Kilemi, joined the university fraternity for the ceremony, which was presided over by the university’s Chancellor, Mr. Peter Ndegwa, Chief Executive Officer of Safaricom PLC, alongside Vice Chancellor Prof. Romanus Odhiambo.
The ceremony celebrated the academic achievements of the graduates, including six doctoral graduates the highest number of PhD graduates in the university’s history. This milestone underscores the institution’s growing contribution to advanced research, innovation and the development of specialised skills needed to address national and global challenges.
As an Ambassador of Meru University of Science and Technology, PS Mugambi continues to support the institution’s mission of advancing education, research and innovation. His participation highlighted the importance of collaboration between government institutions and universities in strengthening human capital development and promoting sustainable national growth.
The graduation also reaffirmed the critical role of higher education in equipping graduates with the knowledge, skills and expertise needed to advance Kenya’s development priorities across sectors, including forestry, environmental conservation, agriculture, technology and enterprise development.

A delegation from Meru University of Science and Technology, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), Prof. Simon Thuranira, today held a consultative meeting with the Principal Secretary, State Department for Forestry, Mr. Gitonga Mugambi, and other officials to discuss preparations for the upcoming Meru University Mt. Kenya Mountain Run 2026.
The University is working closely with the State Department for Forestry and other strategic partners to ensure the successful delivery of the event, which will be held on 5th September 2026.
