The UK terrorist threat level has been raised to SEVERE – meaning an attack is highly likely.
For you, the public, this means remaining alert but not alarmed.
If you see anything that doesn’t feel right report via gov.uk/ACT.
In an emergency always call 999.

As someone formally responsible for Public Order Training for the Met, I can say with confidence that the narrative being put around re this video is nonsense. The training shown is designed to test officers in worst-case scenarios.
A video of officers doing public order training is being widely shared with inaccurate commentary claiming it shows us preparing for disorder with right wing groups.
We've set out some facts below.

ALT All the scenarios used at the training centre are fictional – made up places, made up people etc. They don’t involve real political or other affiliations. Training staff playing characters in the scenarios wear old scrap clothing given it doesn’t last long in the environment they work in. The fact one of the t-shirts has a union flag on it is entirely coincidental. It’s disappointing we are increasingly having to challenge this sort of misinformation which only serves to increase divisions and tensions.

This is an inaccurate headline that will only fuel community concerns.
The decision to cover the memorial was taken by park authorities, not the police.
As the paper’s own article makes clear, it is a precaution Royal Parks have taken for a number of different events.

In 2019 we launched the Diversion service for women in London. Working in partnership with the Metropolitan Police we aim to divert women who've committed low-harm offences into our support services at the point of arrest instead of charging them.

This van is needed to transport a terminally ill 13 year old boy. The family were unable to take him on holiday.
The vehicle was seen at around 0225 on the 26th by #Hackney Marshes.
