As the "local dtail hater" I have a god given duty to chime in on the mini discourse... Did everyone forget how dracotail is literally the best deck in the format until it gets (or got in tcg) nerfed enough to stop being the best deck? And then it still won a ycs lol

(I actually like the dracotail deck but felt after the 2nd wave of support with phyxrl / marshmao and noroi the jush decks became really unfun to play against. Phryxl was a mistake and I think MD banning it is smart honestly.)

Ill be the first to admit I was wrong on branded being dead & I don't think I've ever been more happy to be wrong in my life. I dont think it's a YCS winning deck anymore, but it definitely has the chops to perform. high spirits and opening should be brought back to 3 though.

TLDR - Complain, make your voice heard, but always be constructive about it. There's bad faith when ppl complain about content creators voicing opinions on the game when it's the result of the bed konami made. cc's have been the life blood of the online yugioh community for years

We as content creators have a responsibility to be fair, but let's be honest yugioh hasn't been in a great spot since links outside of a few pocket formats like tear, toss, jush, & and others. Angel / medius being unchecked is the result of a 40 card banlist missing the mark

Not really. Konami killed a LOT of peoples' favorite decks, recent purchases and yes, even pet decks (which are important to have around). Then they left a massive combo deck on the table and gave the keys to the format to a stun deck. And the content creators are to blame?

Yep, content creators pushed for a banlist / reaction out of konami (rightfully) and got it At what price tho? By saying the game was unplayable and trash, a good chunk of the playerbase left Yes we got a banlist (which didn't change shit btw) but it was way too expensive

It's almost like nuking branded instead of hitting the top decks down to where they aren't just basically ftks was a terrible balancing decision for a banlist attempting to fix the actual problems of the game. They chose to ban 10 floodgates no one has used since 2024.

I’ve noticed Yugioh regionals attendances still declining , Seattle regionals had like 110-120 people yesterday in advanced. Why are players not coming back post banlist? What’s the disconnect ?

Angel being unhit in tcg and unpointed enough in genesys is making this format absolutely horrendous on top of photon lord and non finito still being legal. The floodgate hits were good but it's almost like nuking branded when angel / medius were the problems was mind boggling.
