🥵Enjoy the warm 70s/80s while it lasts! 🥶 A front brings scattered showers WED (mostly central & south NJ), followed by a widespread rain on FRI. Brisk 50s return for the weekend with even a few flurries up in NY/PA on SAT! @News12NJ #NJwx

It's rain - not a hurricane. ⌛️Trending earlier than previous forecasts. Arrival near 9AM, remains steady all day, and tapers to broken light showers after 9PM. 💧1-3" of rain, some minor flooding and difficult travel. 🌬️E 15-20mph with gusts near 25mph. @News12NJ #NJwx

Another video I took at Point Pleasant Beach during "landfall" and the "eye" over and just south of us. This was preceded by ramping up wind gusts 60+, numerous downed trees in town between 8-1030 am. @NWS_MountHolly @nynjpaweather @News12NJ @DaveCurren @Meteor_Mike @ContentWxGuy

Conditions are improving! Rain ends by noon with lingering mist and clouds. The last of the coastal flooding will be with this AM's high tide cycle as the winds shift and gusts calm, letting water drain from back bays. @News12NJ #NJwx

🧐WORST STORM EVER? No. 🌊Nasty for the coast? Yep. ⛰️ If you live inland, it'll probably just be a windy and cloudy weekend with intervals of rain starting Friday PM. 🏖️ Coastal impacts are greatest with moderate tidal flooding, strong gusts, & beach erosion. @News12NJ #NJwx

Pretend you have never heard of a solar eclipse. The Sun’s behavior has been predictable your whole life. One day, you witness the sky transform as it does in today’s spliced image spanning two hours of the August 12, 2026 solar eclipse. The Sun disappears, leaving behind a bright, empty ring. What would you think had happened? Humans have interpreted eclipses in countless ways throughout history, embedding beliefs about connection, rebirth, or danger into culture. “Eclipse” comes from the Greek word “ékleipsis” meaning “abandonment”. In ancient Greece, the solar eclipse marked the anger of the gods and the Sun abandoning humanity. To the Diné people, this celestial alignment is a time of renewal. Out of respect and to avoid the danger of sunlight, the Diné stay inside until the Sun and Moon separate. The Batammariba people of Benin and Togo believe that the Sun and Moon fight during an eclipse, so the community encourages peace among themselves. Eclipses are an example of the longstanding connection between astronomy and society. Image Credit & Copyright: Javier Castro Text: Keighley Rockcliffe (NASA GSFC, UMBC CSST, CRESST II)

Rain clears out to midday sun and hot/humid conditions today! A spot t-storm is possible after 7 PM. One more hot day tomorrow before a fresher and pleasant weekend arrives. Southern NJ could see an isolated storm tomorrow PM as well. @News12NJ #NJwx
