VISUALS | Transport Minister Barbara Creecy has officially opened seven refurbished railway stations along the KuGompo City rail corridor.
The stations at Mtsotso, Fort Jackson, Panmure, Mdantsane, Arnoldton, Mount Ruth and Wilsonia had previously been damaged and vandalised before being rehabilitated by the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA). For more visit sabcnews.com

🚉 RESTORING RAIL, RECONNECTING COMMUNITIES | EAST LONDON
Minister of Transport, Hon. Barbara Creecy, visited the newly refurbished Walsonia and Mdantsane stations and officially opened Fort Jackson Station.
The refurbished stations feature CCTV cameras, universal access and solar power, supporting improved security, accessibility and more sustainable station infrastructure.
These upgrades form part of PRASA’s ongoing #RebuildingRail efforts to restore railway infrastructure, improve the commuter experience and reconnect communities through safe and reliable rail transport.

The Minister will showcase three refurbished stations in East London, highlighting PRASA’s ongoing efforts to restore rail infrastructure following incidents of theft and vandalism.
A total of 7 stations have been refurbished, restoring access for communities and supporting safer, more reliable journeys.
With security personnel deployed at stations and on board trains, PRASA continues to strengthen security while restoring the train service as an essential link for communities to travel safely in and around East London.
