Tax Day is tomorrow.
If you sent the tax man a ridiculous amount of money, you should think about buying an airplane.

Not easy.

Update on the older Citations. The FAA published the official notice, and it takes effect this Tuesday, Sep 29. If you have a single-pilot endorsement in a 500, 550, S550, 552 or 560, it's no longer valid. Those airplanes need a qualified second pilot starting Tuesday. The CJs and Mustang still aren't affected.
NBAA and Citation Jet Pilots are questioning the FAA's safety data, but for now the rule is the rule. Plan your crews accordingly.

FlexJet is being incredibly aggressive at getting Netjets owners, also the marketing and aircraft choices are very appealing. Netjets P500 is 80k more a year 🥹. It’s hard to look away.

14 years in, the job is still the same: helping people make confident decisions on transactions that are financially significant and deeply personal. That's the honor.

Young brokers need to hear this:
What you actually do in brokerage is wake up and grind every day. You solve problems as you close deals. Handle logistics. Ease tensions. BIG on details.
You react to markets and cycles. You recruit clients and partner with them to acquire, build, and dispose of properties. You see it all.
You collide with every ancillary profession — lawyers, engineers, appraisers, lenders, city planners, inspectors. You learn A TON.
You absorb data. You study trends. You help define a market. You build up your community.
You sharpen your communication every day on actual calls, hearing "no", and hosting people on tours. You learn people. You see why they do things. You build wealth.
AND THEN IT HITS YOU
What you're really doing, without noticing, is building an unbelievably valuable tool belt that few people have in the real estate world.
That is a wonderful benefit of the job — it happens along the way.

Grew up in Chapel Hill, built my life in Crozet, Virginia. Blue Ridge on one side, a quiet town on the other. Somehow I have became lucky enough to call this the backdrop for closing eight-figure jet deals. Small-town roots, global transactions. Still gets me sometimes.

Another great example of why @flyairshare…
This week I had an overnight event in Ligonier, PA. It started at noon on Wednesday and ended at noon on Thursday. 24 hours.
COMMERCIAL AIRLINES…BEST CASE:
Leave my house at 8AM Tuesday morning. Fly out on a 10AM flight from Kansas City. Arrive in Pittsburgh after a layover a little after 3PM. Drive 1.5 hours to my destination.
Attended the event. It was great. Thank you @PNCBank!
Drive 1.5 hours back to Pittsburgh to catch the 5:40PM flight arriving at 12:15AM Friday with another layover and a 45-minute drive home. After waiting for my bags at baggage claim, driving home, settling in, I’m probably not falling asleep until 2AM. And then totally wrecked the next day!
Home to home: 66 hours, with 2 days lost to travel and connecting flights.
FLYING AIRSHARE…ACTUAL:
Leave my house at 7:30AM Wednesday morning. BEFORE I EVEN LEAVE KANSAS CITY, I’VE ALREADY GAINED A FULL DAY OF PRODUCTIVITY. Fly out on a Phenom 300 at 8:16AM from Kansas City. Arrive in Latrobe, PA at 11:16AM. Drive 20 minutes to my destination.
Attend the event.
Catch a 4:00PM Airshare Challenger 350 flight back on Thursday. Arrive in Kansas City at 5:00PM. Back early for a work dinner 15 minutes from my house with a vendor that starts at 6:30PM. Attend dinner. In bed by 9PM. Fresh for a half-day meeting the next morning.
Home to home: 33 hours. Half the time, and saved 2 days of travel.
On top of that, by travelling commercial I would’ve missed:
- Airshare leadership meeting
- Airshare exec team meeting
- Multiple weekly catch-up meetings
- A crucial interview
- Back-to-school night for my oldest, who is a senior in high school
- Dinner with an important business partner
- And would’ve been exhausted for an important half-day meeting on Friday morning
If you’re a business that can benefit from this, stop trying to justify it. The cost is not in dollars between flying private and commercial. It’s in missed encounters and lost opportunities that cost you much more than the difference in money spent.

I rarely forget to run an aircraft checklist.
I always forget to check Amazon before I waste time at Home Depot and Lowe’s looking for one small specialty item🙄
My life needs more checklists😄
When we signed the LOI on the G280 that closed two weeks ago, there were 14 for sale worldwide. Today there are 7.
Out of a 324-aircraft global fleet, half the inventory vanished in six months, and 25 G280s have transacted in the last 180 days.
This market isn't slow. It's absorbing supply faster than it's being replaced.
Sold prices over the past 12 months run low-to-mid teens for older, higher-time aircraft up to low-to-mid twenties for newer, well-configured ones. I'm watching buyers pay more for the right airplane, because the right airplanes are getting harder to find!
