Farmers in #Kenya’s central highlands had their say in the @CropTrust @Cipotato #BOLDcwr #potato trials. They voted for their preferred traits and selected preferred tubers. Breeders will use the data to guide them in promoting potatoes for new trials for late blight resistance.

I traveled to India and Bangladesh earlier this year to learn about #grasspea. My story and photos are at croptrust.org/story-articles…
Meet #grasspea - a superhero crop! It thrives in harsh conditions, improves soil, and is rich in protein. As part of the #BOLDcwr project, experts are using wild relatives to create new varieties, aiming to put grasspea back on the menu ➡️ buff.ly/45ORBpG @ICARDA

I travelled to Borneo earlier this year and captured some images and stories about the efforts of the Dayak people to conserve 'Malan', their traditional agricultural practices.
To preserve their traditions, the Dayak people of Indonesia are conserving indigenous seeds with the @borneoinstitute. Under #BOLDcwr, they regenerated 377 samples vital to their heritage. The seeds traveled 10,000 km to the Svalbard @GlobalSeedVault ➡️ buff.ly/3VKRJDq

I recently traveled to Sierra Leone to document ICBA's RESADE project. Here's a story ...
ICBA’s #RESADE project team has conducted a series of train-the-trainer workshops in Sierra Leone to teach farmers how the straight row method of planting rice can maximize yields. Read the story here: bit.ly/3WvnAsg

It was encouraging to see the work of ICBA's RESADE project in Mozambique when I visited last October.
#ICBAAgriculture’s #RESADE project and Mozambique’s Instituto de Investigação Agrária de Moçambique have been teaching farmers of Moamba how to develop drip irrigation systems and improve soil with #biochar. Learn more about the project here: resade.biosaline.org/
