The Chair plans to swear in @JamalHoltz on Monday. And then he’d sit in the dais the next day with @CMCHenderson, who says she has a legal claim to this spot.

In case you missed the Trump arch drama last night: - 120 people testified against the arch in a nearly 10 hour hearing - The panel (stacked with Trump allies) approved it 8-4 anyway - Less than 2 hours later, a judge blocked construction for the next two weeks More on the late-night developments from @jackiepeiser here: dc.citycast.fm/news/judge-bl…

The promise of cruising the broad Potomac or even the majestic Anacostia would seem a shrewd management tool. It could be used to reward Guard members for particularly diligent foot patrol. It would probably be more welcome than a mere letter of appreciation.

The optics of donors funneling money to the groups whose leaders get appointed to top administration jobs is not good. Great scoop from @CityCast_DC

The premise of this fund appears to be that the new administration will appoint folks to senior positions who don’t have the necessary experience and expertise—and who are leaving nonprofits behind that can’t survive without help from donors trying to ingratiate themselves with the new mayor.
Pretty good scoop from @jackiepeiser: Major philanthropic foundation is shopping a $2k fund that would fund @Janeese4DC transition, train appointees, and bankroll the nonprofits whose leaders it imagines might get top jobs. dc.citycast.fm/dc-politics/w…

I was told that the next administration was going to be staffed with qualified technocrats after years of giving top jobs to unqualified loyalists, but it appears that the next administration is setting up an apparatus to “train” unqualified loyalists to work in the government??
