Captain’s Log – Stardate Unknown
Our first mission in this universe put a crew drawn from different realities to the test, and they acquitted themselves well, frankly better than I had any right to expect of people who were strangers to one another weeks ago. And we came away with more than we bargained for – a clue left by the entity we encountered on that derelict freighter, the signature of its own crossing into this reality. It is one small piece of a much larger pattern that may one day show us the way home. We intend to find the rest.
The hum of the warp core fades as the Enterprise-D drops out of warp, and Ops brings up the three contacts still outstanding from your arrival in this sector:
CONTACT ONE – A scrambled tight-beam transmission intercepted by the communications array, passing through this sector on an encrypted Ferengi commercial channel. Ops has partially decoded the manifest: a shadow auction for Artifact Omicron-8, provenance heavily redacted. Its appended energy signature matches no commercial technology on record. It reads, partially and imperfectly, like an illicit subspace weapon outlawed under the Khitomer Accords. (The Heist)
CONTACT TWO – Starfleet priority channel, addressed directly to Captain Kirk. Locate and extract Harven Zax, a dangerous intelligence broker, currently aboard a disabled Vespian cruiser at coordinates 188 mark 44, and deliver him to a rendezvous point at the edge of the Expanse within sixty hours. He is wanted, arguably, dead or alive, by three different groups: the Romulans, the Orion Syndicate, and a Klingon Great House. (The Delivery)
CONTACT THREE – A lateral sensor sweep reports a complete absence of subspace comm traffic from Kirin Outpost Gamma-3, a Federation research installation on the Expanse’s rim. Gamma-3 has a crew of twenty-three and files automated status reports every four hours. The last confirmed report is seventy-five hours old. The station’s emergency beacon is not active. There is no debris field. Simply… silence. (The Fracture)
Three crises. One ship. No backup.
You must decide where we set course next.
What say you?

First Mission: The Ghost Ship (Part 4) - "The Advance Team" #Amalgaverse
After calming a frightened Rhea and securing her in a utility room, Jack and Daniel prepare to head back and confront the service android.
Suddenly, McKay’s panicked voice comes over radio. He tells them that the ship’s core will go critical in less than 40 minutes. They have to abandon ship. He’s headed to the bridge with Maia to pull Rommie.
Jack and Daniel exchange looks. Jack keys his radio and raises Rommie directly, bringing her up to speed fast.
“It’s Maia’s turn to open up,”he tells Rommie. “Find out who’s telling the truth. If she refuses, put her down same as the big bot.” A beat. “Can you do that?”
Rommie can.
“Just once I’d love for one of these spooky ghost ship ops to go smooth,”says Jack as he and Daniel turn to head back to the jumper.
KA-CLUNK. The bulkhead door dead ahead releases. Jack and Daniel melt into the shadows as it grinds open.
Through it comes the scavenger advance team, a hard-looking pack of mercs and marauders – human, alien, and cyborg – mismatched weapons up and ready, moving with easy menace. They start forward, straight toward Jack and Daniel’s position.
What do Jack and Daniel do?
A) Hit them now while they have the cover advantage. But this puts the scavengers between you and the jumper.
B) Let them pass. But this puts the scavengers between you and the rest of the away team.
C) Talk to them. Warn them that the ship is about to go critical. You lose the advantage of surprise but could defuse the situation without firing a shot.

First Mission: The Ghost Ship (Part 4) - "Unexpected Company" #Amalgaverse
Aboard the Enterprise-D, Pilot alerts Kirk from his neural graft cradle on the bridge: “Captain, I’m detecting an FTL window opening off the port bow.”
“On screen,”orders Kirk.
The viewscreen holds on the empty starfield, then a distant flash as a vessel drops into sub-light. The image punches in. Jury-rigged and battle-scarred, it is unmistakably a scavenger ship, no doubt drawn by the freighter’s emergency beacon, silenced too late.
The bridge tenses. As Kirk and the others look on, a smaller shape launches from the scavenger ship – a shuttle, streaking straight for the Waldorf Astoria. And the away team.
“We came to offer help,”observes G’Kar. “They have come to help themselves. Scavengers are nothing if not honest about their appetites.”
What does Kirk do?
A – Hail the scavengers. Warn them off. Tell them you have people on board rendering aid, then alert the away team to the company headed their way.
B – Hail the scavengers. Order them to recall their shuttle and clear out. Ready weapons.
C – Hold comms silent but go to ready posture, and get word to the away team at once.

First Mission: The Ghost Ship (Part 4) - "The Survivor" #Amalgaverse
Jack and Daniel head down the corridor, the light on Jack’s P-90 cutting through the shadows while Daniel checks the sensor tracking the fading life sign. They move in silence. The far-off hiss of venting steam somewhere deep in the ship, the clack of their mag boots on the grille, and little else.
Then Daniel is hit with a realization. “Lam,”he says, an answer to a question only he was asking.
“What was that?”asks Jack.
“I was trying to figure out who Rommie reminded me. Just got it. Dr. Lam, back at the SGC.”
He waits for Jack to make the connection. O’Neill considers a beat, then shrugs. “I don’t see it.”
Suddenly, Daniel pulls up short. The signal is getting stronger. He motions to Jack. They approach a bend in the corridor, raise their weapons, then swing quickly around it to find –
A young woman, cowering under their lights. She’s in a crew uniform, clearly injured, and she flinches at the sight of them. “Please, don’t!”she cries. And then, as Jack and Daniel lower their weapons, she takes them in and a wave of relief washes over her. “How did you get aboard? Are you the rescue team?”
“We answered a distress beacon,”explains Daniel, hunkering down beside her. “Are you alright? What happened?”
Her name is Rhea, and she tells them that she was a member of the ship’s 7-person crew. They were on a long-haul run when they struck some kind of anomaly that knocked them out of FTL and crippled the ship.
While they were effecting repairs, the anomaly somehow got onboard and infected their service android, Maia. She turned on them. They fought back and ran for the shuttle. Maia opened the bay doors while they were still crossing, venting the hangar and blowing them out into space. Rhea only survived because she had fallen behind the airlock when it sealed, trapping her on the pressurized side. She watched her friends die through the glass.
She’s been hiding ever since, waiting for rescue. And now that it’s here, she has one warning for them: “Don’t trust the android!”
What do you do?
A) Request transport. Ask Scotty to lock onto Rhea and beam her straight to sick bay, if the pulses allows it.
B) Bring Rhea along and confront Maia. Put them both in the same room and get the true story.
C) Keep Rhea hidden and regroup with the rest of the team first, then get to the bottom of it.

First Mission: The Ghost Ship (Part 4) - "Countdown" #Amalgaverse
McKay stares in horror at the mechanical spiders swarming the core. He is torn between drawing his sidearm and bolting. He considers, then throws a look to Maia, deferring to the android, who calmly asks: “Are you alright? I’m detecting a sudden spike in your heart rate and blood pressure.”
“What the hell are those?”he asks, swinging his gaze from a surprisingly calm Maia back to the spiders.
“The repair drones?”asks Maia. “Do they make you uncomfortable?
“Yes,”replies McKay without hesitation. “Very.”
Maia turns towards the drones and sends a neural command. They scatter at once, skittering away like cockroaches in the light, clearing the room and disappearing into the vents.
Maia proceeds into the room. An uncertain McKay follows. He watches as Maia manually vents the drive, then redirects focus to the readings.
Not good news. The venting worked, he reports, but it was only a stopgap. Containment and regulation have been too badly compromised. This thing is going to breach no matter what they do.
Maia double-checks the readings and confirms as much: “We have less than seventy-five minutes before catastrophic containment failure and total structural loss.”
“Oh God!”says McKay. And then: “Wait. Is that seventy-five Earth minutes?
“No,”replies Maia. “My default clock runs on Traugott Standard Time.”
McKay is palpably relieved. “So in Earth minutes that’s…?”
“Roughly forty-two.”
“Oh God!”
Maia exits engineering, McKay on her heels. The Waldorf Astoria is doomed. And so are they if they remain onboard. McKay tells her they must abandon ship. She agrees, but not before she returns to the bridge, tags the cargo with recovery transponders, and jettisons it into space so that Traugott can reclaim their property once the ship is gone.
What does McKay do?
A – Head straight for the hangar. Contact the team, regroup, and evacuate now.
B – Accompany Maia to the bridge. Back her up first, then evacuate together.

First Mission: The Ghost Ship (Part 4) #Amalgaverse
[An away team made up of Colonel Jack O’Neill, Dr. Daniel Jackson, the android/AI Rommie, and Dr. Rodney McKay has been dispatched to investigate a seemingly derelict freighter. The ship’s service android, Maia, helps them gain access to the bridge where they are presented with three crucial tasks: A) Acquiring crucial data from the ship’s computer, B) Investigating a fast-fading life sign, and C) Going to engineering and venting the drive before the core goes critical.]
Jack makes the call. They’ll split up. Maia and McKay will head to engineering to vent the drive. He and Daniel will investigate the life sign. And Rommie will remain on the bridge to decipher the corrupted data.
Maia leads the way to engineering, McKay trotting alongside her to keep pace. He tries to make conversation as they go, asking her how long she’s served aboard the Waldorf Astoria. She tells him she was commissioned for the freighter’s nine hundred and fifty-sixth voyage, a little over eight years ago after the previous service android was decommissioned and retired.
“What’s android retirement like?”asks McKay. “Custodial work at a museum?”
“Component donation of functional subsystems, followed by industrial recycling,”replies Maia matter-of-factly.
McKay is aghast. “Are you serious? That’s horrible!”
Maia doesn’t understand the reaction. “I will have served my purpose. I am the property of Traugott Corporation after all. They may do with me as they wish, and my salvageable parts contribute to the betterment of the company.”
McKay is winding up to argue the point when they reach engineering. The doors slide open, and the sight inside stops him cold. Crawling across the floor, up the walls, and over the core itself are a half-dozen small, metallic spider-like machines.
What does McKay do?
A) Draw his weapon and fire. Drive them away from the core.
B) Run. Get clear and warn the others.
C) Trust in Maia. Let her handle them.

First Mission: The Ghost Ship (Part 3) #Amalgaverse
[An away team made up of Colonel Jack O’Neill, Dr. Daniel Jackson, the android/AI Rommie, and Dr. Rodney McKay has been dispatched to investigate a seemingly derelict freighter. On board, they discover a service android named Maia who offers to accompany them to the bridge – but first they must make a detour to avoid a potentially compromised section of the ship.]
The away team waits as Rommie checks the forward compartment. Moments later she returns and confirms Maia was telling the truth. Had they unsealed it, they’d have been hit with a wave of hard radiation that would have shut her down, fried their comms and sensors, and slightly irradiated their testes.
Maia says nothing. She merely turns and continues on her way.
You follow, taking the detour around the compromised section, and finally reach the bridge. Its doors slide open on Maia’s neural command, giving the team full access. Maia and Rommie immediately get to work, isolating the damaged decks, restoring life support, and killing the emergency beacon before it draws any unwanted company.
Rommie notes that the ship’s database has been corrupted by whatever it encountered out there, but she has turned up something very interesting. When the atemporal entity entered this reality, knocking the Waldorf Astoria out of FTL, the freighter’s sensors recorded and analyzed the event as it happened. According to this analysis, the rift it passed through carries the same harmonics as the residual traces of their own crossings into this universe. This could well be their key to getting home. But the data is fragmentary and corrupted, and it will take some time to decipher.
Daniel, at that point, reminds them of the lone life sign a few sections over, still flickering but now growing fainter. He wants it made the priority. Maia informs them that the Waldorf Astoria was on an unmanned long haul run, and warns this life sign is likely the entity she warned them about. She wants to accompany them but there is a much more pressing issue that demands her attention.
One of the consoles reveals the anomaly’s pulses have fried the core’s automated containment and regulation, and the reactor is climbing towards a breach, maybe less than an hour from critical. It can’t be stopped from the bridge. Someone has to head to engineering and vent the drive by hand.
What do you do?
A) Wait for Rommie to decipher the corrupted database and retrieve a potential clue to the way home.
B) Investigate the life sign. Reach it before it fades, whatever it turns out to be.
C) Go to engineering and vent the drive. Save the ship.
D) Split the team. O’Neill’s call. He and Daniel will investigate the life sign, McKay accompanies Maia to engineering, while Rommie stays on the bridge to decipher the corrupted data. Everything gets done, but it does spread them thin.
