I remember this vividly. I was 10 years old and already a huge Giants and Yankees fan. But I was rooting for the Mets to win it. Watched that series with my mom, who passed less than 2 years later from non-Hodgkinās lymphoma.
1986: OTD 40 years ago: #NYGiants had a key MNF matchup w/ Washington but the fans used their portable TVs/radios to follow along w/ Game 7 of the World Series at Shea. The crowd would burst into cheers randomly on Mets' HRs as they beat Boston & NYG won 27-20
