โ€œThe reset talks are a national shame, an exercise in collective humiliation. The Government is not going into them with a series of demands to be traded against EU demands. Rather, it is going in determined to expiate the sin of the 2016 referendum, to atone, to agree to whatever is put in front of it, and then to claim that such agreement was its own plan all along. Eurocrats have clocked it. They smell our negotiatorsโ€™ misery, their embarrassment, their longing for absolution. They have understandably upped their own demands in response, ordering Britain to hand over cash, fish, sovereignty and self-respect.โ€ Paywall down. telegraph.co.uk/gift/0fa19b6โ€ฆ

Did anyone vote to radically change the way the country is run? Did anyone vote for a Prime minister to regularly conduct the affairs of state from a second Number 10 in Manchester? Did anyone vote for fourteen regional super mayors able to overrule their local mayors? Did anyone vote for an all-powerful cabinet secretary able to direct, not just advise, all other senior civil servants? Did anyone vote for a visitors' tax to be overseen by local councils? Did anyone vote for Burnham to splash ยฃmillions of taxpayers' money on whatever takes his fancy? DID anyone vote to rejoin the EU by the back door?
Replying to @juneslater17
Andยฅ Burnham thinks he can do whatever he wants. Unseating the sitting Prime Minister, opening a second Number 10 just down the road from the family home in his very first week, creating regional mayors with the power to overrule local mayors, introducing a new visitors' tax, rejoining the EU by the back door, and spending hundreds of ยฃmillions of taxpayers' money on whatever he fancies, are just a few things Burnham has been doing in the last 3 months. Burnham didn't contest the 2024 general election, but became a member of Parliament via a contrived by-election in July, because there wasn't a better option for Prime Minister to the dreadful Keir Starmer among Labour's 404 sitting MPs. The country didn't vote for any of Burnham's measures or policies. There has been a coup in the UK. Admiral General Prime Minister Andee doesn't care; he's in charge now, and will rule by decree.

As I've said before, Knob of the North is just a spineless puppet following orders. In many ways this is worse than rejoining as it gives Brussels full control over British food production and many other parts of the UK economy, but without having any say at all over the rules.
The British Businesses That Will Answer to Brussels Without Ever Trading There Andy Burnham's Brexit reset contains a remarkable bargain. In exchange for easier trade with the European Union, Britain is preparing to accept rules written in Brussels, including those governing businesses that have never exported a single product to Europe. Consider the family butcher in Yorkshire, the dairy farmer in Wales or the small food producer supplying local shops. Their customers are British. Their businesses operate under British law. Yet the Government's proposed agrifood agreement would bring them within a regulatory system whose future rules will be decided by institutions in which Britain has no vote. The Government's own guidance confirms it. The agreement will apply domestically whether businesses trade with the EU or not. As Brussels changes its rules, British regulations will change accordingly. This principle, known as dynamic alignment, reaches far beyond removing paperwork at Dover. The scope is considerable. Food safety, pesticides, animal health, nutrition labelling, organic production and marketing standards are included. Dozens of EU regulations and directives would fall within the arrangement. Future changes could affect what farmers grow, which products manufacturers use and how food is sold. Burnham argues that closer alignment will reduce costs and improve trade. Removing unnecessary border checks makes sense. Exporters have faced genuine difficulties since Brexit, and businesses would welcome relief from costly certificates and inspections. But a government surrendering future regulatory freedom should explain precisely what Britain receives in return. The promised economic prize is ยฃ5.1 billion a year by 2040. That is a forecast, dependent on assumptions about future growth. Meanwhile, Britain's financial contribution to Brussels remains unclear. Ministers are asking the public to applaud the benefits before disclosing the full bill. More troubling is democratic control. Britain would be consulted during the development of relevant EU legislation. Consultation, however, guarantees no influence. We would have no vote in the Council of the European Union, and the European Court of Justice would remain the ultimate authority on questions of EU law covered by the agreement. Parliament would retain its legal powers. But exercising them against an international agreement could carry consequences, including disputes and retaliatory measures. Future governments might therefore face a choice between laws they oppose and economic penalties for refusing to follow them. That is an extraordinary position for a country whose voters chose to leave the European Union. Britain also imports food from countries far beyond Europe. Aligning our standards and import controls with Brussels could restrict our freedom to negotiate different arrangements with those suppliers. The Fresh Produce Consortium has warned of substantial additional costs for importers sourcing produce outside the EU. Such warnings deserve examination before commitments become binding. Brexit never meant Britain should stop trading with Europe or reject sensible cooperation. Restoring national control meant allowing elected British governments to decide which rules best served this country, while remaining answerable to the people who elected them. Burnham now proposes an arrangement under which future EU decisions could reach into British farms, factories and shops without those affected having a meaningful vote over the lawmakers responsible. The question Parliament should put to him is simple. Why must a business that never trades with Brussels surrender its regulatory independence for the benefit of one that does? Until Burnham answers that, his Brexit reset looks less like practical government and more like a transfer of democratic power whose full price remains unknown.

Increasing the prison sentence for Digwa, Henry Nowakโ€™s killer, is not enough. The Police Race Action Plan which promotes anti-white policing (believing the lying Digwaโ€™s allegation of racism and betraying poor dying Henry) must be scrapped. The ultra-woke College of Policing, fount of all the pernicious critical race theory bs, must be closed. Chief Constable of Hampshire must resign and the officers who disgracefully handcuffed Henry, when he posed no threat, should be prosecuted.
Henry Nowakโ€™s family were told there were 'no concerns' with officer conduct by the police watchdog, the IOPC. In an exclusive interview with ITV News UK Editor @PaulBrandITV, the family says they were unaware of the contents of officersโ€™ bodycam footage from the scene of the crime, which detailed the 'horrific' final moments of their son's life. Speaking publicly for the first time, Henry's father, Mark and stepmother, Katie, said they only saw the video on the first day of the trial of their son's killer. The document also pledges its commitment to the International Criminal Court in Point 15, but not when EU criminals are concerned; in Point 51, the UK has had to agree to disobey its own Sentencing Act 2026 by not deporting EU criminals, even though the point of the Sentencing Act was to reduce the pressure on UK prison capacity. So, the UK's Sentencing Act 2026 will only apply to criminals from non-EU countries. EU criminals will still take up UK prison places, and UK taxpayers will still be paying for their incarceration, while new criminals will be given noncustodial sentences because we donโ€™t have enough prison places, but thatโ€™s OK because we canโ€™t possibly upset the EU.

"Iran has told Britain, in its own words, that it treats the Channel as a weapon. Iranian officials said their smuggling routes are "owned" in part by the IRGC and are "more useful" to Tehran than a missile"
A Negligent Government, Warned and Unmoved Iran has told Britain, in its own words, that it treats the Channel as a weapon. Iranian officials said their smuggling routes are "owned" in part by the IRGC and are "more useful" to Tehran than a missile, because they can move "revolutionary people" into London who simply wait to be told what to do. Tehran's own officials said this, on the record, describing the method themselves. Sir Ken McCallum, the head of MI5, has said his agency has foiled more than twenty potentially lethal Iran-backed plots on British soil. Lord Walney's report found a network of UK charities spreading Khomeinist ideology, several in receipt of Gift Aid, with governance links to Iranian state institutions. The IRGC's Islamic Radio and Television Union operates openly from Manchester and Wembley, broadcasting praise for Hamas and Hezbollah commanders as martyrs. In September, the IRGC addressed an open letter not to the American public generally but specifically to "scholars, students, and members of the media", naming the audience it has judged most useful to its message. Every detail here is published record from the last twelve months, not speculation. Then came RAF Fairford. Five British men were arrested near the base used by US bombers in operations against Iran, then bailed. A sixth man, a UK-Iranian dual national, was arrested in Westminster on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts and has also been bailed. Andy Burnham told the BBC there were "strong indications" Iran was involved. Benjamin Netanyahu has since claimed Israel handed British authorities intelligence warning of an "Iranian-sponsored attack", only for Britain to announce sanctions on Israeli settlement trade the following day. Whatever the truth of that sequence, a Prime Minister has publicly linked a hostile state to an attempted attack on a British airbase, and the men investigated over it are walking free on bail. This is the government that continues to welcome boats carrying record numbers of unvetted arrivals, dispersing them across the country, no verification against watchlists and no way of ruling out exactly the embedding Iran itself has described. A government cannot claim ignorance of a threat it has proscribed. It designated the IRGC under state-threat powers in July. It has read Walney's report. It has heard its own intelligence chief's warnings. And it continues operating a system Jonathan Hall KC has already found releases people before checks are complete. Call it what it is. A government told exactly what the threat looks like and still failing to close the gap it moves through is negligence. Continuing to process record Channel numbers through a system its own reviewer says cannot reliably verify who is arriving is recklessness. And when ministers call for calm, dismiss the question as alarmist, or sanction the very ally offering intelligence on the threat, the word edging into view is complicity, not with Tehran's aims, but with the conditions that let Tehran's method keep working. Russia weaponises migration on NATO's eastern border, and Western governments say so plainly. Iran has told Britain, through its own officials, that it does the same across the Channel. The difference is that nobody in Warsaw or Vilnius pretends not to have heard it. Britain has heard it from Tehran directly, confirmed it through its own intelligence service, and chosen to keep the door exactly as open as before. Nobody in government can say they were not warned. The warnings came from Iran's own mouth. Prime Minister, Andy Burnham and Mojtaba Khamenei, the Iranian Supreme Leader. "Iran has told Britain, in its own words, that it treats the Channel as a weapon."
