PATCH Trial Results (prehospital TXA - AUS/NZ/DE):
- Same improvement in mortality as in previous trauma studies.
- No difference in GOS-E %(dead or severe disability) at 6 mos.
- No difference in thrombosis rates.

Argh! Yet another pt’s VTE initially dismissed because no “textbook”symptoms & signs.
Please! VTE can be difficult to recognise
- most DVT have no signs - no swelling & change in colour
Usual symptom is just muscle pain
- consider PE in those with unexplained chest symptoms
