Daily reminder that Trump and Republican leadership are spending billions of your tax dollars on military operations against Iran that Congress never authorized, expanding Stephen Miller’s mass deportation agenda, and funding the president’s own vanity projects, while doing nothing to lower your grocery bill or make your life more affordable. This November, you can help put an end to it.

Churchill could have shortened WW2 by years if he had just “done a deal” with Hitler. George Washington could have done a deal to end the American Revolution. Zelenskyy is in good company.

This is disgraceful. Last week, Ukrainian forces woke up to find their Starshield terminals suddenly restricted. Access came back days later, but in the meantime Russia was launching hundreds of drones a night at Ukrainian cities heading into winter. Elon Musk says any limits on Starshield are decided by the U.S. military and ultimately the President. Trump denies it. What we know is that the restriction landed in the middle of an administration pressure campaign against Ukraine. This should not be partisan. Pulling back support for Ukraine helps the invader. The American people deserve to know who gave this order and why. My grandfather was part of the Greatest Generation that fought in World War II so that democracies would never be left alone to face a dictator’s aggression. Leaving Ukraine exposed while Putin bombs its cities betrays what he fought for. We need answers, and we need them now. cnbc.com/2026/10/20/trump-mu…

This is outrageous. Somebody isn’t telling the truth and Congress needs answers. “Some U.S. officials say that Musk acted unilaterally and that Trump didn’t specifically order any retribution against Ukraine. But a person familiar with the situation said Musk talked to multiple senior administration officials, including with Trump, before imposing the new speed cap, which Ukrainian officials said had allowed Russian missiles to evade their defenses.” wsj.com/world/ukraine-starli…

Families deserve a president who's as focused on the economy as he is on his golf game. There's real work he should be doing right now. Instead, he’s been fixated on tearing up East Potomac Golf Links. It's one more vanity project on a list that keeps growing, from a ballroom to a triumphal arch, to the Kennedy Center and reflecting pool. He's building monuments to himself while your bills keep climbing.
Trump: "The United States Department of Interior wants to take a terrible and very unsafe golf course, and make it into a great, safe, and prestigious golf course. They have an absolute right to do so. It’s as simple as that! The judge on the case is a crazed lunatic whose courthouse tapes will reveal, may be insane? The tapes have been blocked from usage by the judge. The random golfer bringing the ridiculous lawsuit has ZERO STANDING! The experts at 'Interior' are allowed to do this First Class renovation 'as of right.' They do not need an approval. Work is scheduled to begin IMMEDIATELY! The finished product will be World Class, and bring income and great prestige back to D.C. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT"

You can disagree with Rep. Ilhan Omar on every vote she's ever cast and still see that something is very wrong here. Federal agents raided a sitting member of Congress's home and are now working to strip her citizenship, just two weeks before Americans head to the polls. The timing speaks for itself. When an administration turns law enforcement against political opponents in the middle of an election, every citizen should be worried, regardless of party. We need a strong, secure immigration system that enforces the law fairly and keeps politics far away from it. wsj.com/politics/policy/ilha…

If you want to understand how completely this White House has abandoned America's role in the world, read this New York Times piece. Earlier this month, President Trump waived sanctions so Russia could sell more diesel. He got nothing in return. No ceasefire. No pause in the bombing. Days later, Russia fired 39 ballistic missiles at Ukraine, the biggest barrage of the war, and 600,000 people in Kyiv lost power with winter closing in. Six Republican Senators joined six Democrats in calling the diesel deal a betrayal of Ukraine. They're right, and I'm grateful they said it out loud. Every family in my district wants lower fuel prices. I do too. There's a better way to get there. Pass my Energy Bills Relief Act, end the war in Iran that sent fuel costs soaring, and produce more clean energy right here at home. Putin is a murderous thug. Americans of both parties have known that for a long time. Standing with democracies fighting for their lives is part of who we are. I stand with Ukraine. And I'll work with anyone, in either party, who's willing to do the same. nytimes.com/2026/10/18/us/po…

This morning on Meet the Press, Treasury Secretary Bessent was asked three times whether Ukraine is an ally of the United States. Three times he dodged the question. He should be ashamed of himself. Ukrainians are defending their homes, children, and democracy against Putin's brutal invasion. My grandfather went off to fight in World War II because Americans understood that when a dictator invades a free country, we stand with the people defending it. That same conviction has made America strong for many decades and should continue to guide us now. So I'll answer the question Secretary Bessent wouldn't. Yes, Ukraine is our ally. And we must not turn our back on them.

Just a month ago, we voted on the Russia sanctions bill named for the late Senator Lindsey Graham. He spent more than a year fighting for it because he believed Russia should pay a real price for its brutal war on Ukraine. On that, he and I were in full agreement. I voted no. The bill handed Donald Trump the power to waive its sanctions whenever he chose, along with sweeping new tariff authority, and many of us warned that he would use that power for all the wrong reasons. Trump signed the bill on September 18. Last week he announced a deal to buy diesel from Russia. And on Friday, two days before the sanctions were set to take effect, he signed an order waiving broad sanctions and tariffs under the new law, claiming it serves our national interest. The White House has offered no explanation as to how. The head of Russia's sovereign wealth fund celebrated it as a historic moment. President Zelenskyy said it only helps Russia. Members of both parties, including Republicans who championed this bill, rightfully have condemned these actions. This is a disgrace. Trump turned Graham's bill, which was meant to choke off the money that funds Russia's war machine, into a lifeline for Putin, the exact opposite of what Graham fought for. When we win back the majority, we must force this administration to explain itself, and strip any president of the power to waive Russia sanctions without a vote of Congress. wsj.com/politics/policy/trum…

To the firefighters, sheriff's deputies, and every first responder right now in South Orange County, thank you. You're working through rough conditions to protect our families and homes, and we owe you more than we can say. My heart breaks for those who lost their homes. Like so many of our neighbors, our family evacuated as the fire moved toward our community. If you're under an evacuation order, please leave right away and stay out until officials say it's safe. Sign up for Orange County emergency alerts and check on neighbors who may need help getting out. The County has set up a hotline at (714) 628-7085 if you have been impacted and need more information. My office is here for anyone who needs help. This community always shows up for one another. Please reach out. #NorteFire

Three weeks before Election Day, Donald Trump is trying to cast doubt on legal ballots and discourage eligible Californians from making their voices heard. It's the culmination of years of his false claims about widespread voter fraud, claims that collapse every time someone actually checks the facts. We will not be deterred. California will fight this in court, and the rest of us have work to do, too. Fill out your ballot, drop it off at a local drop box, and make sure the people you care about do the same. Your vote is your voice, and nobody gets to take it from you. nytimes.com/2026/10/15/us/po…

The Washington Post just obtained the internal donor list for President Trump’s ballroom, and there’s one big red flag I wasn’t expecting. It involves Julio Herrera Velutini, an international banker indicted in 2022 on bribery charges tied to Puerto Rico’s former governor. After the 2024 election, his daughter gave $3.5 million to a pro-Trump super PAC. His charges were reduced to a misdemeanor in August 2025. The next month she pledged $2.5 million to the ballroom and paid the first $835,000 in October. In January, Trump pardoned him. That’s just the latest revelation. The other ballroom donor info shows $333 million steered into a White House account the president directly controls, with at least $77 million coming from donors who asked to stay hidden. About half the money came from companies or executives with federal contracts. This whole thing is rotten to the core. wapo.st/4yiUDPx
