Russia’s Central Bank Opens the Door to Public Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT Trading
The Bank of Russia has sanctioned the public trading of $BTC, $ETH, and $USDT in the country’s financial market. The official opening is planned for November 17.
This marks a drastic shift from the government's previous stance. BTC, ETH, and USDT now get legal status as traded financial instruments.
The approval creates the framework for official state-backed clearing of corporate and individual capital.
Participants in the Russian financial market can trade those cryptocurrencies officially without resorting to informal OTC exchanges and peer-to-peer platforms.

Ethereum has spent the last two years quietly becoming the settlement layer that most serious on-chain activity still routes through.
L2s handle the volume. ETH handles the security and the final settlement. Staking yield stays in the 3–4% range depending on the method. Gas on mainnet is low most of the time unless something spikes. The network hasn’t had a major incident in a long time.
