Other countries look at us and wonder why we choose guns over children. I am a teacher and a mother and an American and I choose children over guns #GunReformNow

Politicians who are suggesting that we invest in fortifying schools have NO IDEA that many of these schools don’t have drinkable water, air conditioning/heat, and proper ventilation… how about invest in fixing that first.

If Black elders who suffered Jim Crow are still w/us, & Native elders who were robbed of their land & rights are still w/us, & Japanese elders who were forced into Camps are still w/us—why do we pretend the people & systems who committed those atrocities are magically gone?🤔

We can’t expect teachers to work 60-70 hrs per week or more, but then tell them to self care. Maybe leaving is their self care? Let's focus on taking care of teachers in the 2022-2023 school year!

If you really want to lure teachers to your campus, give them an extra planning period. It gave me back my mental health, gave my husband his wife back & my sons their mother, rather than a zombie always grading & working at home. Teachers can move mountains w/ a 3rd planning!💗

A thread about using color as a design tool in science presentations. Color is a great tool to separate different categories of information, to highlight information, or to establish an emotional tone. 🧵1/20

Students often believe #STEM fields aren't for them based on a single failure, a bad grade, or a tough teacher, but any student can be #scienceminded and reclaim their STEM identity. Here's how! buff.ly/39ZBHjy @chrisemdin #STEMeducation #STEMEd #science #mathematics

When I heard this a few days ago I got SO angry. Of course blame the teacher. Public spaces shouldn’t be like prisons anyway, everyone should have the right to exist without fear of being murdered.

Across the country, parents are putting their children to bed, reading stories, singing lullabies—and in the back of their minds, they’re worried about what might happen tomorrow after they drop their kids off at school, or take them to a grocery store or any other public space.

It takes a monster to kill children. But to watch monsters kill children again and again and do nothing isn’t just insanity—it’s inhumanity.
