This says everything (in a good way). We stay true to ‘the way’ — win, lose or draw — and eventually, “progressively”, we start doing the right things more often and end up winning a lot of games. It takes time — probably more with this much change — but it works. #avfc
🗣 Unai Emery: "We weren't clinical. Overall, understanding how we started the season, adding players to get our structure stronger is one step forward more that we did today. Not completely happy, but I told the players this is how we did before our way here."

Crap today, by all accounts. But Emery strikes me as a ‘big picture’ manager. We want to win, but the real aim is to ensure every game is in service of a vision he believes in. It’s worked before, it’ll probably work again. But that doesn’t stop it being frustrating. #avfc
Takes the player, then the ball. Should be a pen. I’ve never seen a ref make so few decisions as Craig Pawson. avfc

A letter I could never have conceived needing to write in my nearly fifty years of supporting @AVFCOfficial. @chrisheck76 doesn't care, but perhaps others within the club do.

Hi @chrisheck76,
If you care about the next generation of #AVFC fans as you state in this video, or any generation of Villa fan in fact, then you will review these Champions League prices and make a change.
The uproar from the fans and media is truly justified.
You’ve a chance to put it right before the competition starts.

Heck's Hike damages the feelgood factor around a great club. Imposing a US ticketing strategy on an English club is both folly and arrogance. Column. #AVFC open.substack.com/pub/henryw…
A team of moments is a poor team of quality players.
I like Southgate. Good man. Rebuilt the culture. Created togetherness. Right that cautiousness takes you far.
But when you have brilliant players, cautiousness is a waste of talent. #ENG

🚨This might be the most bizarre football story of 2024.
Dinamo Bucharest believe that despite signing ex-Barcelona defender Edgar Ie in February, his twin brother has been playing for them instead. Club is investigating.

Horrible watch as a Villa fan. We looked great on the counter first half. Pretty awful in most aspects in the second. Definite foul for Chelsea's 3rd but a point is the least they deserved. Take it and run. #avfc

Aston Villa are thrilled to announce head coach Unai Emery has agreed to a contract extension until 2027. ✍️
Shot our selves in the foot today. A disappointing result and a 9-minute capitulation reminiscent of Villa teams in the not so distant past.
We’ve struggled with intensity and crosses all season. We miss Mings. But we could also do with a tall, athletic DM too. But…
…Rome wasn’t built in a day. We’re overachieving while still developing. It’s new territory for most of our team and that shows every now and then.
This has been a remarkable season — and it could well end brilliantly. (Spurs are more experienced at this level but…
