8 year old crying at school. Court had granted possession order & family to be evicted 1st Nov. School contacted us, we saw family same day, discovered error in proceedings & sent letter before action. Warrant cancelled, possession claim discontinued. Family stay in their home.

This is an ambitious pledge when courts are closing, sitting hours are being kept artificially low, the police and CPS have had funding and staff slashed to the bone and the Chancellor has just confirmed a further £300m cut to the justice system.

I’m sure if I was sat in an unheated flat pretending not to be hungry & hoping my kid’s shoes last the year out, I’d be comforted in the knowledge the road outside was pothole-free & somewhere in the Atlantic a nuclear sub was pottering around unnecessarily.

17 hours in Police Custody, locked in a cell, no phone/watch/contact, the noises of a busy suite, that’s what I’m doing from 5pm. I’m hoping it will give me some idea of what a DP experiences. Thank you for the support @SussexPCC @sussex_police @InspWilson @CustodyVisiting
