🆘🆘 TRUCKER (ID 266749), 13 YO, MALE – IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 9/28/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance - landlord won't allow. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿
➡️TBD 11/5/26
➡️ SENIOR ALERT
➡️ MEDICAL PRIORITY – NEEDS MORE CARE AND ATTENTION THAN THE SHELTER CAN PROVIDE –😱😱😱
➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST
➡️🆘🆘 8TH Chance on Emergency Placement List – HIGHLY UNUSUAL AND SHELTER AT MAXIMUM CAPACITY- NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT/HELP TRUCKER- HIGHEST EU/SILENT KILL RISK–🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱
➡️ 37 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ TRUCKER IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS - Trucker is a senior cat that has been diagnosed with diabetes and dental disease. He is currently on treatment for diabetes mellitus with an oral medication called Senvelgo. Trucker will need veterinary follow-up to manage his comorbidities. Behaviorally, he can get a bit grumpy with medical handling and will growl occasionally. This evaluation/diagnosis means that TRUCKER will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! I am a sweet, social, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home! I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. A volunteer writes: Trucker hasn't had the easiest time as of late, but this cat is all kinds of perfect and resolutely hoping that things will turn his way. He's a diabetic senior who was found and taken in pretty recently but brought to us a few weeks later due to a no pet policy. During Trucker's time in a home, he knew he was loved. Trucker would sit on his guardian's lap and gently paw at their face for more pets. Trucker's still trying to find those cuddles by stretching his paws through the door and calling out invitations to anyone walking nearby. Playful and sweet, he only wants to be included and he's absolutely right to keep trying because, truth be told, Trucker does need to work a tiny bit harder to stand out but stand out he does. He's a bit older and has his medical concerns, but he also has his heart and I think that's enough to make him one of the brightest kitties around. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

🆘🆘 UPDATE – UPDATE – POOR POOR STALLONE WAS RETURNED TO THE EPL ON 11-1-26 – LITERALLY ON BORROWED TIME NOW – BEYOND URGENT – LET’S HELP HIM GET SAFE 🆘🆘
➡️TBD 11/3/26
➡️ NEW HOPE PARTNER RESCUE ONLY
➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST
➡️🆘🆘 12TH Chance on Emergency Placement List – 12 TIMES IS ALMOST UNPRECEDENTED – TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR STALLONE– MORE TIME VERY UNLIKELY - ALL HANDS ON DECK - NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT/HELP OREO STALLONE - HIGHEST EU/SILENT KILL RISK- VERY LIKELY LAST CALL🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱
➡️ 130 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ STALLONE IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display challenging behavior during interactions. He is extremely intelligent and high energy, and needs to expend energy constructively with interactive play sessions 3-4X/day. In addition to playtime, this cat would also benefit from mental exercise from activities such as puzzle toys/games, lick mats, or clicker training. Without providing activity for his mind and body, the cat may react with rough play, potentially resulting in bite/scratch incidents. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥
What my friends at ACC say about me: I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. I would do best in a home with only adult humans. I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets. A volunteer writes: Stallone's a little cutie pie who isn't always sure he wants to be one. We get that. Stretched out in his cubby, Stallone perked his head up and sweetly cuddled into my hand for pets before a look of surprise spread across his little kitty face. It was like he just realized he'd been accepting all of these pets when he remembered he actually had a job to do. Stallone's on the lookout for a forever family and while an occasional distraction of pets or playtime may have its merits, he's really looking for something a bit more serious or at least someone who recognizes that. Stallone was brought to us by police and has shown improvement since coming in. He'd really love a chance to find a patient family who will celebrate his progress. Another volunteer writes: Stallone is quite a handsome cat who is always "on display" like an actor awaiting proudly an award...His balcony is his favorite place..He calls for attention with his eyes and his voice, sticks sometimes a paw through the bars, expecting intensely to be seen, heard and treated with special food(he spots me right away when I enter his ward), a visit and may be some playtime. Stallone has been with us for quite some time, I guess because of his scratch history and also the fact that he can be unruly, overreactive with touch and play, a bit fearful too and frustrated by the fact that he really would love not to be locked in anymore in a cage. He used to be petted by hand for longer times, something he does not agree too so much lately. Loneliness, a cage and lack of "entertainment" can take a toll on a former pet. Stallone is now a "regular" in our lives. We love him and so dream for someone to give him a chance..May be you could be the one?. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

➡️ 7 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ CREAMSICLE IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS Creamsicle arrived at the care center with a large wound second to an embedded collar. Given the location (axillary region) and size of the wound, it has been left to heal by second intention. Creamsicle would benefit from a rapid shelter exit so that the wound can be monitored closely as it heals. Additionally, she is underweight and has moderate dental disease. evaluation/diagnosis means that CREAMSICLE will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy! I am a sweet, social, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home! I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles! Need some biscuits for your breakfast? I'm an expert kneader! Creamsicle tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. She will likely need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

➡️ NOUGAT IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS - Nougat is diabetic with diabetic neuropathy. He has been started on treatment for his diabetes. Nougat will need daily maintenance with their medical condition and further follow up with outside vet care. Nougat has allowed all handling. This evaluation/diagnosis means that NOUGAT will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥
A volunteer writes: Twelve year old Nougat and ten year old Marzipan were brought to the Manhattan Care Center as their owner was taken into care. They are two gentle souls who must have been such wonderful companions. They are calm, well mannered, welcoming of staff and volunteers (Marzipan is a bit shyer than Nougat), leaning into pets and even purring. Both pets seem to have been well cared for. They have a good weight, a thick and shiny coat, are already spayed and neutered and know their way around people. Nougat, though was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and is being treated for it. Marzipan is apparently healthy. Both have as expected, senior teeth. Nougat and marzipan are great names for the two housemates as they are so sweet but Marzipan(made of almond paste) is usually white, so I wonder...Marzipan and Nougat would love to go home, may be it could be with you and together(if at all possible)....They are both waiting for their forever at the Manhattan Care Center. ➡️ OCTOPUS IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥
A volunteer writes: Octopus gave birth in a laundromat. I guess, she wanted a clean environment for her brood. She was not allowed to stay and was brought to the Manhattan Care Center with her few days old babies. Octopus was stressed and had a very hard time nursing so the eight babes were placed and fed in an incubator. Octopus remained defensive with her caretakers and not open to having a trusting relationship with them. Lately, Octopus is showing signs that she might want to engage with staff and volunteers. She likes treats and as she spends more time on top of her hiding place than in, I presented her with a tray of high end cat food that I held. She came forward and after some hesitation and back and forth, she ate while I was with caution, petting her(see video). I was not so lucky with feather wands she seemed to be scared of. Nothing really is known about Octopus. Was she a stray, a pet who got out of luck? We all wish Octopus could be given a chance because even if she shows tiny improvements at the care center, being in a quiet home with a compassionate while experienced adopter or foster could be the light at the end of the tunnel for her...Will you be Octopus' hero? What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them. Octopus tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent and may need time to warm up to her new home. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

🆘🆘 SALLY (ID 268270), 17 YO, FEMALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 10/19/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance - landlord won't allow. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿
➡️TBD 10/31/26
➡️ SUPER SENIOR ALERT
➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱
➡️ 11 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ SALLY IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥
A volunteer writes: Sally is known to be a shy, quiet, calm and independent cat who is friendly, affectionate and playful when she feels comfortable with the person she meets. She does not seem to have ever mingled with kids, cats or dogs. Imagine how uneasy, lost and scared she must feel in a large busy shelter, alone in a kennel and mostly away from everything and everyone she knew for soooo many years...Sally is not having it. She tries to sleep deep in her cloud and mumbles when we address her. "Leave me alone! I do not belong here! I do not know you! Where is my home? Where is my family?" She shows some interest in food and grumbles while eating it, mostly when I approach her door. "Will you take that too?" Sally is an elderly gal, may be a bit younger than 17 (age stated by her owners). She is pretty, girly, her eyes are bright and she is dressed as a pretty grey mouse. No pet belongs to a cage and even less one who has spent sooo many years living comfortably and loved in a home. Sally is waiting for that special person who will believe in her, believe that there is a sweet soul behind the gruffy cat in a cage....Sally is waiting for you at the manhattan Care Center. What my friends at ACC say about me: I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. My favorite pastime is being visually admired! Pet me with your eyes! ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻

🆘🆘 FANNY (ID 268008), 5 YO, FEMALE – IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as a stray on 10/12/2026. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿
➡️TBD 10/31/26
➡️ MEDICAL PRIORITY – NEEDS MORE CARE AND ATTENTION THAN THE SHELTER CAN PROVIDE –IN FELINE ICU😱😱😱
➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱
➡️ 18 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT
➡️ FANNY IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS - . Fanny has an aural hematoma, likely due to chronic otitis and ear mites. While her hematoma is healing, the chronic changes to Fanny's ear make it difficult to treat her ear issues to resolution as her right ear canal is significantly narrowed. She needs frequent cleanings and medication application and will need veterinary follow up. Behaviorally, Fanny is very sweet and loves pets, but she has escalated to swatting with claws in while having her ears cleaned. This evaluation/diagnosis means that FANNY will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥
What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles! My purr motor is always running! I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. A volunteer writes: I heard Fanny's purrs as soon as I walked into the room but couldn't quite place where they were coming from. It was from Fanny who was curled up simply purring to herself. Fanny hasn't been dealt a fair hand, but her good hearted efforts and smile in response to coming up short don't stop her from trying and also break my heart. Fanny walked herself into someone's home several times and, eventually appearing a little worse for wear, was brought to us for some medical attention and a surer path to a forever home. She curled around my hand as soon as I offered it and continued purring, sharing her heart and her hope that things will turn her way any day now. Fanny interacts with the observer, appreciates attention and is easy to handle. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience, demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior, and understand she is being treated for a medical issue at the time of her assessment. ❤️ 😻❤️ 😻❤️ 😻
