💧▶️ REMINDER: #MONITOOL project has been working along European Atlantic and Mediterranean coastal waters for adapting the existing EQS for passive sampling devices (DGTs).
Find out about it and its most relevant results to date at this video: youtu.be/Hy4McU3WXe4
📢The #MONITOOL Project dataset with metal concentrations in transitional and coastal waters measured in DGT passive samplers by ICP-MS and in concurrently collected spot samples by ICP-MS and ASV/CSV: Cd, Ni, Pb) are available at: data.mendeley.com/datasets/r…
The work developed at #MONITOOL will be presented at the 7th DGT-2023 in Paris by @Ifremer_fr. The abstract titled "How to use DGT labile concentration for WFD chemical status assessment? adaptation of EQS to DGT for Cd, Ni and Pb" has been accepted for poster presentation.
In the last throes of the #MONITOOL project, we have published and sent to our stakeholders a short note providing an overview of the main achievements of the project and what could be done in the future. It is available at➡️monitoolproject.eu/news/97-n…

And so we bring the meeting to an end! 🤝
We finish with a call to stand on the shoulders of #MONITOOL and continue and expand our research to explore how and for what we use DGTs.
#MONITOOLFinalConference
👏 After a very interesting discussion between speakers and audience about passive sampling and DGTs led by Thi Bolam and Lee Warford (CEFAS), our Final Conference of the MONITOOL project has just ended with some very good audience data: 46 online and 49 in-person attendees.
👥 Ending the guest speaker session, we invite Mr John McGrath from @TELaboratories Ltd, Ireland. He discusses the usage of passive sampler device, Chemcatcher within an Irish environment.
👥 Prof. Francesco Regoli, DiSVA, Polytechnic University of Marche and Dr David Pellegrini from ISPRA, Italy. An insightful discussion regarding the inclusion of DGTs as a tool in Weight Evidence (WOE) approaches for Ecotoxicological Risk Assessment (ERA) in marine environments.
👥 We are delighted to have Dr Brendan McHugh from the @MarineInst , Ireland speak on the developing passive sampling in a monitoring context. He highlights the crucial role the #MONITOOL project played in addressing previous gaps in passive sampling knowledge.
👥Professor Gary Fones from @portsmouthuni, UK looks back onto the history of passive sampling use, as well as future scientific advances and applications into policy.
👥 Cagliari local, Dr Laura Durante from
Parco Natural Regionale Molentargius-Saline, Italy speaks on protecting the wetland of international interest by applying DGTs for trace metal monitoring.
👥 Dr Jean-Louis González from @Ifremer_fr , France, has dived into the versatility and application of passive sampling.
👥 Dr Natalia Montero from @azti_brta, Spain takes the stage to provide a dynamic, practical guide to DGT use for the chemical assessment of marine waters.
Today, DGTs have been used in over 400 laboratories and organisations with over 1500 publications in waters, soils and sediments.
👥Out first guest speaker is Professor Hao Zhang from @LancasterUni , UK, introducing DGT as a tool in science and regulation.
Professor Zhang and her team established DGT Research Ltd 1997, supplying the now leading passive sampler, DGT.
