Kidney stones - You need to understand two things matter in kidney stone 1. Location 2. Size As long as stone is in the kidneys, it’s not an emergency as kidney has lots of space and it gets more dangerous as stone size increases. Secondly, if the stone comes into the ureter( it’s the narrow pipe bringing urine from kidney to the bladder) then it will cause severe pain and will lead to one sided obstruction, if the stone is of small size, say less than 5 mm it is more likely to pass in a day or so. But in this case the stone is large and it is stuck in the mid ureter so it is causing one sided kidney obstruction and as time passes by the kidney may get damaged and in some cases it can be irreversibly damaged. So the retrieval of stone is an emergency situation. I don’t know the exact date of this report but hope you understand the urgency and you should go to a MCH Urologist as soon as possible.
