Tonight’s #AMCscreamunseen was ‘Faces of Death’. Not bad, not great. Dacre Montgomery kept it afloat with his performance as Arthur and peppered his performance with shades of Hannibal Lecter. No kills to brag about, but more a suspense/survival thriller.

Marty Supreme is the real fucking deal. I’m still at a loss for words. Josh Safdie is a masterful storyteller who lures us in with what feels like a classic sports drama, only to gradually unveil the true Safdie-esque, hyperkinetic, anxiety-fueled odyssey at its core. The last 30 minutes are some of the most tense and riveting cinema I’ve seen in years. I honestly can’t recall a single moment where I wasn’t completely locked in.
Marty is such a reprehensible and deeply flawed character, yet through sharp writing and Timothée Chalamet’s outstanding performance, I couldn’t help but root for him on his absurd journey. Chalamet is as great as you’ve heard, channeling a cocky, self-obsessed, magnetic Icarus figure, and he’s my current frontrunner for the Oscar.
The film is beautifully shot and edited, but what truly blew me away were the unbelievably tense table tennis sequences. And if that was really Chalamet playing in those scenes, I’m genuinely gobsmacked. One of 2025’s best. I loved this.

Timothée can act ANY way he fucking wants on any press tour in his films to come. A tour de force performance: a completely different individual on-screen than we’ve seen in Dune, A Complete Unknown, etc. - he disappears into the role.
I can’t wait to watch again - go see it.
