Don’t be surprised if Monkeybone becomes the Best Picture front runner soon. I think people are seriously underestimating how much this movie is going to connect with audiences including academy voters.

The man is in his 70s, if he still has energy to make one more film than give him the opportunity to make The Shadow King.

I must admit, I wasn't sure how I felt about (or if I even liked) this one when it came out, but after a second watch about ten years later (and then multiple watches since), I've come to realize that Henry Selick's Monkeybone (2001) is really quite brilliant.
