Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified. The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far. Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete. As an immediate precaution, Binance has: - temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed; - revoked the affected address authorisation; - engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds. Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice. Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions. binance.com/en/support/annou…

The Binance hacker might have just pulled off one of the smartest moves I’ve seen in crypto. First, Tether froze $1.5 billion in USDT. Then Circle froze another $800 million in USDC. At that point, it looked like the hacker’s money was trapped. But apparently, he had already planned for that. Instead of holding the stolen USDT in a wallet, he allegedly deposited it into Aave and used it as collateral to borrow ETH. Then he walked away. That’s where the story gets crazy. Tether can freeze the USDT sitting in the wallet. But it can’t freeze the ETH he already borrowed. So now Aave is left holding frozen collateral, while the hacker is sitting on liquid ETH. And unless the protocol can recover it somehow, he may not even need to pay the loan back. Two companies froze billions of dollars in seconds. But someone who understood how to use DeFi may have found a way around both of them. Pretty insane when you think about it.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The described Aave deposit used only ~60M USDT as collateral to borrow 19,762 WETH before freezes hit the main wallet, not the bulk of funds; Aave states the overcollateralized position is subject to normal liquidation with no material protocol risk. governance.aave.com/t/binance-hot-… x.com/binance/status… drk.vc/news/binance-1…

🚨BREAKING: A retired British police officer has been convicted and fined for sharing a meme. The post said: “Fun facts about bacon! People who eat bacon have a lower chance of marrying a 9-year-old!” Stephen Gray, 65, spent 30 years as a police officer. He said the meme was satirical and meant to spark debate about child marriage. A judge ruled it “grossly offensive.” He now has a criminal record.

Over the past year, @enginedotio has changed how games are built and distributed - 1,000+ unique publishers. - 4,000+ games built - $24B in turnover - $90M+ paid out to publishers Previously, this content was only available on Stake. Now, we’re opening Engine to the broader iGaming industry. For operators, that means access to more games from more publishers. ⚠️Scam/Larp Awareness Post⚠️ On July 25th, @RambleGG reached out to me wanting a $15k marker under my Stake code. Of course, he talked the talk and showed screenshots of his $1 Million Dollar plinko hit and massive bets from a few months back. He also name dropped a few streamers I know and a trustworthy loaner in my circle, so I said fuck it why not give this guy a shot. I gave Ramble an initial $15,000 marker in which he won $200,000 on my Stake Code and of course paid the initial marker back. to keep bridges open and ponzi into more loans. Few days later, he’s lost all his money, so I ended up giving him another marker and as one thing led to another he ended up owing me $51,000 to be paid August 5th. August 5th comes around, and here's where the excuses start coming. Low and behold, he tells me he is on his way to bank in 20min to get funds to pay me as the "IRS had his account levied" and thats why he had to wait until august 5th. Several days go by and still no money. As he keeps telling me daily, "money is on the way, give me your address" this excuse eventually turns into him saying "I have $350,000 in crypto, but my wife holds my ledger" and he doesnt have access to it. So still, im giving him the benefit of the doubt, but starting to get extremely frustrated as the back and fourth of expecting money has been daily for a full week now. August 12th now rolls in, and this is where the excuse then becomes that he needs to wait a bit now as he's taking Case Site deals so he can earn the money to pay my marker. Which, how would that make sense if you have a ledger holding $350k that your wife has and what happened to the bank money you said you'd use to pay? August 16th, Sunday, now rolls around, and again Ramble changes the excuse once more, this time to "I'm selling all my watches IRL to pay you tomorrow on Monday". Monday the 17th comes and he now allegedly sold his watches and gave the cash to his friend to convert to crypto and proceeds for the 5th time to ask me for my payback address. Every day form August 16th until August 21st, he has said the money is already in crypto and for whatever reason he needs my USDC (SOL) address? Whatever, sent him the address fully knowing this guy is bullshitting again, and money is never sent. Simultaneously I take it upon myself to reach out to mutuals to see if they've heard anything, and sure enough night before, August 20th, Ramble is out here larping saying he has $150,000 in his @DiceyHQ balance (later proven to be non-withdrawable funds) and allegedly needed to pay an $8,000 direct to dicey for them to unlock his $150k. Knowing it was a scam, but already in WAY DEEPER then I am with Ramble ($160k+ debt), he sent im the $8k in good faith, expecting to be paid in 2 hours. As expected, Ramble did not pay him nor I back a single penny from that alleged $150,000 balance that was supposedly getting unlocked. Later even came to find out , not only was that balance proven non-withdrawable, he didn’t even use that $8k to pay back the actual marker that he STILL owes Dicey. Fast forward to later back to August 21st , when I first made the tweet saying that couple people (Ramble and 1 other) owed me money, this sparked ramble to immediately post a tweet saying he owed me and a few others money (which he now deleted) and messaged me and admitted he lied about everything and made u pall those stories and he will now actually wire the money on Monday August 24th and pay me and others by Tuesday. Here we are now August 28th and 0 payment, 0proof of wire AGAIN, and refuses to answer any questions at all regarding the wire. I wrote this tweet because not only does he owe me, several others, also 2 other casinos marker in which he has 0 means to ever pay back, it’s come to by awareness that he is also now trying to get another Casino Deal and SEVERELY downplaying the scam/larping he’s done. Screenshots below.

This is absolutely egregious. The Liberal government has issued a directive barring military chaplains from doing prayers at military ceremonies. Instead, they're permitted only to do a non-religious "spiritual reflection" that cannot mention God.

6 days ago we publicly asked @Winna for the records behind player Heyri’s 62 disputed bets. Winna did not respond. So we investigated using Winna’s own public systems. What we found: -The player was not served Winna’s public Slide. He was served a private, account-gated VIP version that was visually identical on screen. -The 62 disputed bets cannot be independently verified today. Winna’s public API serves no result, no target and no seeds for any of them. $10.5M of wagers resolve to nothing. -We found no independently verifiable pre-bet commitment for the VIP build: a fresh server seed every bet, nonce fixed at 0, a client seed tied to a Bitcoin block mined in 2023, and no published commitment chain. Our conclusion: On the evidence available to us, the VIP Slide was not provably fair and the disputed bets are not independently verifiable. We make no claim that any outcome was manipulated. Our finding is that the implementation did not provide the guarantees provably fair exists to provide. Full investigation linked below
Provably fair dispute: @xxxmourn's investigation for player Heyri - who asked us to review his case with @Winna @paulwinnacom We've only heard one side, so this is an invitation to Winna. 2 issues need answers. Issue 1: The disputed bets can't be verified, at all. The public bet pages load with no result, no seeds, no fairness details. That page is the whole point of provably fair. Issue 2: The VIP Slide had no lock on the outcome. Winna's own seed data shows it ran the Limbo formula with the safeguards stripped: - a fresh operator seed every bet - no published chain (the seeds connect to nothing) - nonce stuck at 0 - a client seed fixed to a 2023 Bitcoin block the player couldn't change The operator's seed alone decided each result, nothing locked it in beforehand. That's the information we have been given at this stage. To complete the record, we're asking @Winna to provide all 62 rounds, one row per bet: bet ID, time, stake, player's target, result, server seed, the hash shown before the bet. Along with any other relevant information they have so we have both sides of the story. Winna's fairness page confirms every one of these values should exist. Only a pre bet commitment can prove fairness, but this lets us start a fair assessment of the situation - and we'll publish the outcome independently either way.

A Detroit woman deposited $50 into BetMGM and turned it into $3.3 MILLION over six days. The casino paid her $100,000, congratulated her, then suspended her account and kept the rest. She spent four years fighting through every court in Michigan just to get her day in court. She still does not have the money. – Jacqueline Davis deposited $50 into her BetMGM account on March 18 2021 and started playing a game called Luck O' the Roulette. – Her first bet was $4.50. She lost it. – She kept playing and over the next six days the Michigan Supreme Court later described what happened as "a heater of epic magnitude." – As her winnings grew she pressed her bets higher. – By March 23 she was wagering $5,000 per spin. – Her account balance reached $3,289,500.75. – She requested a $100,000 withdrawal. – BetMGM approved it by email. A VIP host called to discuss transferring such a large amount off the platform. They congratulated her on her winnings. – The next day her account was suspended for unusual activity. – BetMGM's investigation found a software malfunction had started on her 28th play. – Win amounts were being multiplied when transferred from the game screen to her wallet. – They said her account should have read zero by play 368. They removed the game from Michigan entirely. – Davis sued for fraud and breach of contract. – The Wayne Circuit Court dismissed her case. – The Court of Appeals upheld the dismissal. Both courts said Michigan gaming law gave the regulator exclusive jurisdiction over such disputes. – The Michigan Gaming Control Board investigated. – They found BetMGM had violated rules by failing to report the malfunction promptly and not cooperating fully with the investigation. Took no disciplinary action anyway. – Davis appealed all the way to the Michigan Supreme Court. – On July 22 2025 all seven justices ruled unanimously she has the right to take BetMGM to trial. The case was sent back to Wayne Circuit Court. – That trial has not happened yet. It is now 2026 and she is still waiting. – BetMGM has not commented. A woman turned $50 into $3.3 MILLION, was congratulated by the casino's VIP team, had her account frozen the next day, lost in two courts, won at the Supreme Court, and is still waiting for a trial five years later.

I was invited into a private, "provably fair" VIP game at a crypto casino (@Winna / Winna.com) 🚨 I lost $7,299,672 ($7.3M) - 61 of 62 bets. Then the casino's own owner confirmed, in writing, it was possible to hand me an unfavourable seed pair. This isn't a callout. It's one fair ask: @Winna, prove the game was provably fair - or refund my money. Here's all of it 🧵 (Read tweet 11 for technical evidence + context and a suspicious amount of coincidences - Expanded case in Github)

Birmingham Police are now asking us all to stop sharing this video. Oops.
We are aware of footage showing the arrest of a man after a disorder on Broad Street at 1.30am on 21 June. Officers found a group of men fighting. As the incident was dealt with, an officer was punched. One man was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer.

That’s $20,000 MORE than the average Canadian salary - and it’s tax free!! Explain to me HOW THE FUCK IS THIS FAIR to all of us who have worked, are working, & continue to work REAL jobs & pay taxes - not sitting on our asses protesting & praying to Allah. WOW Canada has a terrorist invasion. The Bishnoi Gang, a designated terrorist organization, just sent a letter to a the police, saying it has 1,000 gunmen on the ground. The RCMP says it’s acting on behalf of the Indian government. This requires IMMEDIATE & FIRM action. “Every individual we’ve identified during this investigation is a temporary foreign worker or on a student Visa and relatively new to Canada”
