Sia is out of surgery. It was complicated. She responded to meds when her BP crashed. She is still critical. We have to wait for lab results. Multiple samples, masses, biopsies were taken from her liver. One small piece of fabric was removed from her small intestine. She needs improve enough to get her GI tube out to come home. Her recovery is guarded for the next week for post op complications. Sia would have died within hours without the surgery. No question about it. Her bill was put on credit. Pupdate: Blue was rescued from a horrible “rescue.” He required immediate veterinary care. His parasite panel has come back. He is full of Giardia AND hookworms. Full! We now know how deplorable the conditions he was living in, actually are. @Moooo1985 has been able to cover his veterinary expenses so far. She’s trying to move it past that but, I want you to see how much medication he needs. I also want to show you him sleeping with his boy. swoon People have asked what they can do. Kieferpup needs your help. Ystdy he woke with a severely inflamed bottom. Severe. Same as in Feb, March and April. We suspect inflammatory bowel disease. IBD not the human IBS. IBD is often fatal. With any other dog, we would be doing exploratory surgery with biopsies taken from each sect of his GI tract. Kiefer has no back legs. He spends the majority time on his bottom and belly. Zipper stitches is the last thing we want to do to him. We have ruled out parasites. Our next step is to rule out environmental allergies because he’s already on a hydrolyzed, allergy & IBD reduction diet. If his allergy panel looks good our only option will be exploratory surgery. Jaws continues to fight for his life and to save his jaw. He has moved off the prescription food to regular wet food. His skin flap remains a challenge. It’s irritated but not infected. We have discussed removing the skin. But for now it’s helping to hold his mouth together. His spirits are incredibly high. He went from please don’t touch me to please don’t stop petting me. His next appointment is May 19. He will get x-rays so we can assess the bone and wiring system. Herdmom Tine here. I try really hard not to ask for help with anything personal. I’m stubborn that way. However, I have a tree on my house and I need help getting it removed. The insurance company is handling the roof claim. Tree removal is just under my deductible so I need to cover that.
